1200W Max (600W RMS) 12" Punch P3 Series Dual 2-Ohm Car Subwoofer (Newest Model)
Sonic Electronix is now carrying the brand new line of Rockford Fosgate Punch P3 Series Car Audio Subwoofers. The P3D2-12 Punch Series 12" Subwoofer has a peak power rating of 1200 watts and a RMS rating of 600 watts. This sub will produce some earth shaking bass and is constructed with an anodized aluminum cone and a vertical attach surround technique. This woofer is also equipped with a 2.5" Voice coil and a protective PVC textured magnet cover. Add some bumps in your trunk and enhance your cars stereo system with this Rockford Fosgate Punch Series Subwoofer.
While built on a long standing history of performance, the punch series woofers can deliver not only the output to satisfy you when you want it loud but maintain a level of sound quality for when you really want to "listen" to your music. Taking many design cues from the Power Series, Rockford Fosgate engineers continue to improve the Punch Series year after year making it one of the most sought after woofer lines for music and bass enthusiasts alike. With features like Dual tear & fatigue resistant poly-cotton spider for high strength and anodized aluminum voice coil formers to handle heat buildup in the motor structure under full power situations, these drivers are designed to perform.
Anodized Aluminum Voice Coil Former
By using an anodized aluminum voice coil former on their subwoofers, Rockford Fosgate is able to dissipate heat from the voice coil more efficiently. A hot voice coil can melt the adhesive bonds, which will lead to eventual subwoofer failure. The aluminum voice coil former acts as a heat-sink to dissipate thermal build-up on the voice coil cool during high SPL conditions.
Conforms to CEA-2031
Rockford Fosgate has built this subwoofer to conform to the CEA-2031 loudspeaker power handling industry standards. This means that you can trust the subwoofer to have the capacity to safely handle the continuous (RMS) power rating. Having a CEA-2031 power handling is important when matching a subwoofer to an amplifier because the power ratings are accurate.
Stitched Tinsel Leads
To improve the reliability and performance by reducing fatigue and possible shorting, Rockford Fosgate has stitched the tinsel leads to the spider. The multipoint periodic stitching lead wires reduce the mass of the tinsel leads to spread the stress over a greater area. This improves the reliability and performance of the subwoofer.
VAST: Vertical Attach Surround Technique
In order to increase the surface area of the cone without causing any installation issues, Rockford Fosgate designed the Vertical Attach Surround Technique (VAST). By redesigning the manner in which the surround adheres to the basket, these speakers gain up to 25% more effective radiating cone area. This improves the nominal efficiency and maximum output.

I bought a used older model of the P3 but instead was sent the brand new Punch P3D212! So anyways, I have this in a 2.2-2.3 net cubic foot box tuned to about 30 hz and this thing slams in the 35-40hz range. It just goes bananas and sounds great as long as the amp you are using is clean. If this is one of your choices for a subwoofer, you will not be disappointed, however I know this isn't the best subwoofer ever.
The ONLY thing I would look for is that the glue connecting the spider to the cone began to crack, causing a rattle in the subwoofer, but I put some CA glue as well as GOOP around that area and all is well now.
My friends all have two twelves in their car, but i just have one of these in a ported box and they dont even compAre to mine.
RF P3's Rock!
I have 4 of these bad boys in a sealed box hooked up to a t1500bdcp and they get down literally good job Sonic Electronix
P3s are Loud!
These subs are loud for only having 500 watts rms slamming into them. I have these in a 1.85 cf box with a slotted port tuned to 35hz. I can get any drink any size that's in my cup holder to dance around quite nicely.
Absolutely amazing sub !!!
This sub is great it hits extremely hard and thanks to sonic electronix I got it at a great price this sub is just overall a great product the sound quality is amazing to I would definetly recommend this sub to anyone I have a Brutus hifonics 1200 watt amp hooked up to it hits harder than most people's two subs
best boom for the price
Great sound quality these make my rearview mirror useless would recomend these to anyone just make sure you get a good box my two 12 blew the seals on my ported box.
I had already had two 12's JBL in my car with a weak MTX amp and it was okay when i put my music all the day up. But these bad boys, they are so different, i have two 12's P3D2 and running on a rockford amp punch 1000bx1d something like that and everyone can hear it. I have to put it at -30 bass just to so my rear mirror wouldnt move. But overall great! I would check if the sub fits the box if you are trying to put it in an older box.
Using with a power acoustic rz1-1500 and it pounds. Only running at 4 ohms and it's pounds harddd! Will be looking for another one for my truck soon.
very please with rockford fosgate
