The P1 Series continues Rockford Fosgate's world famous line that is considered to be "The Woofer of Choice" for car audio systems. The P1S4-15 subwoofer has a peak power rating of 500 watts and an RMS rating of 250 watts. Just like all Rockford Fosgate products, this subwoofer is built with quality and durability. The P1S4-15 features a high modulus kevlar reinforced paper cone with a high density NBR half-roll surround. The 10 AWG nickel plated push terminals with keep a secure connection at all times while resisting corrosion. The Punch Series 15" woofer also comes equipped with 2" 4-layer high temp voice coil, poly cotton spider, extended pole piece, bumped backplate, and a proprietary spider venting/cooling technique that helps keep subwoofer operating at a safe temperature. Once again, Rockford has made a top notch product at an affordable price.
While built on a long standing history of performance, the punch series woofers can deliver not only the output to satisfy you when you want it loud but maintain a level of sound quality for when you really want to "listen" to your music. Taking many design cues from the Power Series, Rockford Fosgate engineers continue to improve the Punch Series year after year making it one of the most sought after woofer lines for music and bass enthusiasts alike. With features like Dual tear & fatigue resistant poly-cotton spider for high strength and anodized aluminum voice coil formers to handle heat buildup in the motor structure under full power situations, these drivers are designed to perform.
Anodized Aluminum Voice Coil Former
By using an anodized aluminum voice coil former on their subwoofers, Rockford Fosgate is able to dissipate heat from the voice coil more efficiently. A hot voice coil can melt the adhesive bonds, which will lead to eventual subwoofer failure. The aluminum voice coil former acts as a heat-sink to dissipate thermal build-up on the voice coil cool during high SPL conditions.
Conforms to CEA-2031
Rockford Fosgate has built this subwoofer to conform to the CEA-2031 loudspeaker power handling industry standards. This means that you can trust the subwoofer to have the capacity to safely handle the continuous (RMS) power rating. Having a CEA-2031 power handling is important when matching a subwoofer to an amplifier because the power ratings are accurate.
Stitched Tinsel Leads
To improve the reliability and performance by reducing fatigue and possible shorting, Rockford Fosgate has stitched the tinsel leads to the spider. The multipoint periodic stitching lead wires reduce the mass of the tinsel leads to spread the stress over a greater area. This improves the reliability and performance of the subwoofer.

Man! These subs really bang. They slam and can hang with the big boys. I put 2 of these on hifonics brx1000 @2ohms and they got down. I couldnt believe how loud and deep they were. Well worth it!

Gotta love them 15s
This is my first purchase of the 2011 line of Punch subwoofers and I must say I like the design and look of these better than the previous line of which I have two 12", although those are wonderful subs as well. I don't really have room for a 15 in any of my vehicles but was missing that deep, "feel it not hear it" bass that only a 15 can provide so I got one of these to add to my garage stereo and I am very happy with this sub. I am pushing the P1S4-15 off of a Fosgate Power 500bd @ a 4 ohm load so the sub is getting at least 250 watts rms and it seems to be a perfect match. I doubt my neighbors are gonna like my new toy very much.

Cant beat it for the money
I was skeptical that I would be satisfied with an entry level sub after being in the game as long as I have but I was wrong. I installed it in my wife's SUV on 250 watts in an Atrend sealed 2.0 ft sealed box. Sub moves lots of air and produces alot of deep bass you can feel. This is a good set up for someone just getting in the game or thats tight on cash for the sub and box shipped cant be beat.

Great Sub For the Price
I have 2 of these on a prime 500-1 in a prefab ported box. They did a 142 on the meter. Great subs for the money and I highly recommend. Sonic has great service to I got these in 2 days with just standard shipping.
