In the car audio industry, Eclipse has always been recognized as a company that makes products of the highest quality. The Eclipse CD5030 is no exception and proves to be a well manufactured in-dash stereo, with all the quality that one can expect. This incredible stereo features built-in Bluetooth, which will allow the driver (or passenger) to be able to talk hands free and use the car speakers to hear the party on the other end of the call. There is an included microphone that connects to the rear of the unit that captures the voice of the speaker. The result is true hands-free talking. Looking on the back of the unit, a USB cable can be found. This is most commonly used to connect an iPod to the car stereo for full control, charging, and control of the iPod. Along with the traditional CD player, this in-dash receiver proves to have plenty of audio playback options.
In addition to the Bluetooth and the iPod features on the unit, the receiver also boasts some impressive internal circuitry. The rear RCA preamp outputs are all 5 volts, which will provide the cleanest and clearest signal transfer available on today’s head units. There are also 3 sets of RCA outputs, which will enable you to connect your front speakers, rear speakers, as well as a subwoofer. If you are still planning on using the standard speaker wire, the on-board amplifier will produce about 25 watts RMS. That is plenty of power for some standard speakers, and more power than what most of the other aftermarket headunits will produce. As with many of the eclipse stereos, the have a standard OEM feel and look. The display is bright, clear, and easy to read. For the price that you will find at Sonic Electronix, this is the best deal out there!

Wow...
Pros:
1) Unbelievable sound quality
2) 5v preout...nothing needs to be said about that.
3) Options..this thing has all sorts of gadgets and widgets built in.. from Fully adjustable EQ to a built in adjustable X-over, Bluetooth for your phone that works very well. Expansive menu loaded with goodies.
4) Bold and attractive design, the display captures all the useful information on one screen.. my old deck did not.
5) Cost.. you WILL NOT find a better , higher Quality deck at this price.
Cons:
1) I can really only think of one con thus far and its not really a big deal.. the menu navigation is a little difficult if your like me and don't read directions and just fumble through learning.
Overall: I would highly recommend this deck , and you don't have much time before you cannot purchase these brand new...as Eclipse has decided to only manufacture there OEM line of products and discontinue there aftermarket assembly line. A real bummer for us Eclipse fans.. lets hope they come back to the aftermarket business :)

I was going to go with an alpine set up but nearly everything has to be purchased separate (bluetooth, EQ, iPod connection). So I decided to go with this since it is all built in.
The system sounds good. I like the 7-band PEQ.
Only thing I don't care too much for is how small some of the buttons are.

for the money it is hard to get a better all around source unit. bluetooth works very well with my blackberry storm. phone calls, streaming mp3's, audio for finding nemo for my 3 year old " from my cell. all sound good. slight hiss but that may be the phone. usb works nice with a 4 gig stick. the menus are awkward but you get use to them. all in all a good value.

I tried so many radio units like alpine, pioneer kenwood and etc.
but no HU intended to work with amplifiers like this eclipse.
you need to feel and hear bass you will.
no radio like eclipse has perfect sound seperation and filters that
makes the sound be clear and powerfull !!
too bad you can't find it anymore.

This stereo is Great! It took me days to find a stereo with all the features I want like, blue-tooth and plenty of preamp outputs, cause I'm definitely going to put a nice sub-woofer system on it. I am also very pleased with the 7-band equalizer. If your like me and really have an ear for sound quality, then a stereo with an equalizer is the way to go.
The only con is that there are only two deck colors (red and blue).
Overall though I would recommend it!!
