Great Product

I had tried most of the local car audio shops and did not have much luck. I just wanted to play audio via my aux port from my smart phone. I was quoted a price of 250.00 dollars from one place but he would need to modify my car and place a switch under the dash, oh and I could no longer use my AM radio. This product only took a few minutes to install and was an instant hit for me. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a true sound booster. I did hear a little engine noise between songs but it minor.

I am happy with this product and would buy it again. It is easy to conceal under the seat of my motorcycle. also the fact that I can power it from the bike is a must.

Great product

I use it on my motorcycle. Before I couldn't hear a MP3 player above forty miles an hour, now it dosen't matter how fast I go I can hear it. I would advise anyone that needs to increase their volume to get one!

Works great

I'm using this to amplify the signal from my mp3 player and send it to the audio system of my Honda Gold Wing. It works great, easy to use and no batteries to worry about. I would buy it again if needed.

Good but lots of engine noise

I like this Boostaroo better since it is powered by my motorcycle, however there is a lot of engine noise - which facilitates a lot of work around a to reduce the noise. It does a good job of amplifying the sound level though.

Solved my problem!

I purchased this product 6 months ago to amplify my satellite radio volume when plugged into my auxiliary input on my motorcycle stereo system. Without the Boostaroo it was difficult to hear at speed even with the stereo volume maxed out and with the boostaroo the auxilliary input of the satellite radio is close to the same volume level as the radio or cd player. I have not had any probelms with the unit in the 6 months I have owned it and it solved my problem.

Good product - great idea with one minor flaw

I have a 2008 Toyota RAV4 with a factory connection built inside the center console to allow devices such as an MP3 player to be played through the car's sound system. However, when I would connect my wife's Sandisk MP3 player we just weren't getting enough volume output to hear music comfortably when rolling down the road at 70mph even with all the volume controls set a their maximum. Hence I purchased a Boostaroo Revolution R234-MC. Here are the pros and cons:

PROS: Very easy to install, just plugs in. Compact in size. Two output jacks for mulitple listeners. My Toyota also has a 12V power supply built inside the console, so power access was no problem at all. Also, with this power connection I don't have to worry about batteries needing to be replaced or recharged in the Boostaroo. Boostaroo claims an up to 4X increase in volume which is probably true. I was able to measure it against a known song that had been boosted by 10db (3X) and the Boostaroo was just slightly louder (I would guess maybe a boost by up to 12db which puts them into the 4X range). Within my car I did not notice any discernable hiss, amplifier interjected noise, or modification to a song's tone or frequencies. I did not try headphones as I bought the product to go through my car's sound system and I won't wear headphones or ear buds when I'm driving. So, the product did what it said it would do and I now have MP3 generated songs playing at an acceptable volume level in my car.

CONS: Just a little pricey I thought, but I'm willing to pay a premium if the product is reliable and does the job and does it well. Which the Boostaroo does for the purpose I bought it for. The one "feature" it has that I don't like is their cross channel circuitry (read - digital reverb). It adds a touch of reverb to every song played through it. To the casual user, you probably won't notice it much if at all, but to the audiophile you'll pick up on it right away. I don't like that the device is adding something to the music that wasn't there originally. I wish it wasn't there at all or at least give me the capability to shut it off or bypass it. Boostaroo should be more open about telling people about this feature. The refer to it in their literature as "enhanced audio", nah........... its digital reverb so lets be forthright.

SUMMARY: I really like the product. If it didn't add that hint of reverb I would have given it a 5 star rating in all categories. My recommendation to them would be to drop the reverb - period, or at least give me some capability to bypass it. I would recommend the product to my friends with the caveat about the digital reverb.

too noisy to use

I installed this in between a Bluetooth audio unit and the "aux in" in my car. The signal was incredibly noisy - too noisy to use. I decided that I should attempt to put it on the same electrical source as the Bluetooth device to cut down on noise. So I spliced the power lead so that it shared a common power source. That did not help at all - and now that I have spliced the power lead I'm not going to bother trying to return it, which i wish i had done instead of trying to make it work.

I'd look for something else - not impressed with this product.
