The interface kit connects directly to the factory radio. Track-selection can be controlled from the radio, along with rewind and fast-forward. The GateWay provides digital-quality sound and charges your iPod/iPhone while in use. Plus the iSimple GateWay offers additional inputs for use with other devices such as Satellite Radio, HD Radio and Bluetooth.
Notes:
6 & CX-9 models equipped with Mid-Line or Navigation radio will only support basic iPod operation. Mid-Line radios will have a small color LCD screen in the middle of the face of the radio.

Works Great
Installed this into my 2011 Mazda 3 without much difficulty. The biggest obstacle was getting the unit and cables to fit in the dash and still have room to put the stereo back in. I worried about smashing cables, but so far everything still works. Great way to get iPod integration without paying a fortune for the dealer installed option. I would recommend it.
