Good Bass - For As Long As It Lasts
Purchased the amplified box from Sonic 6 months ago. It lasted almost that long before the voice coils gave out. Advertised as having MTX Terminator speakers, we found out when removing them (to return them to MTX) that they were not the standard Terminators. The speakers were clearly marked .7 Ohm on the magnet whereas the standard Terminators are 4 Ohm. I suspect that they used .7 Ohm speakers to claim a higher rating on the amp. The amp itself is a roughly 6" square circuit board and doesn't look very powerful.
Pros:
Good bass when the box worked
Included remote bass control is nice to have
MTX support was fair, offering to replace the defective speakers
Installation was simple
Box fits great, even allowing center console to swivel up/down
Cons:
Speakers failed within 6 months
MTX advertised Terminator speakers and they were not the standard Terminators
My advice is to buy the empty box and load your own speakers and amp.
