Not gold plated, made of Nickle Brass
First I would like to state that the products I ordered from Sonic Electronix were received quickly and well packaged. I am happy with their services and the remainder of this review is not directed at Sonic Electronix.
I purchased two of these because the battery terminals in my MX-5 are badly corroded. They had a nice appearance to them on the store page and claimed to be gold plated. The company I work for gold plates parts with 99.99% certified pure gold and I instantly recognized that these were a very low percentage, if they had any gold in them at all. Upon cleaning the surface with isopropanol and scanning the surface of the product with an Olympus XRF Material analyzer I discovered the plating of these parts contained no elements of gold at all, in fact they are not even plated.
Results from the XRF Analyzer indicated the surface consisted of:
50.6% Copper
36.5% Zinc
10.3% Nickle
1.4 % Phosphorous
Remainder: Misc other elements including sulfur, silicon and cobalt
The exterior of these battery terminals are very chemically close to Nickle Brass. There are some gauge inserts where the electrical connection would be made which do have more of a gold like appearance. Giving the manufacturer a reason of a doubt I assumed these would be gold plated. After removing them and scanning with the XRF analyzer they are roughly 62% copper, 20% zinc, and 16% nickle.
The functional dimensions of the parts I received were as follows:
The two 8 gauge holes measure .233" in diameter.
The 2/4 ga adapter measures .331" in diameter
With the 2/4 ga adapter removed the terminal measures .417"
The 0/2 ga adapter measures .411" I.D.
Without the 0/2 ga adapter measures.
Hole diameter for the battery post without the reducer is .711"
When purchasing these battery terminals I also purchased a package of RT8R and RT4B Ring terminals advertised as gold plated, the products also tested to be nickle brass without any indication of gold content.

Well
I've had better but overall its a good product. Screws strip easy though so watch out. And the accepting holes are off by at least a gauge size.

piece of trash
Let me break it down for future customers,
When it says:
One 0/2 gauge output
One 2/4 gauge output
Two 8 gauge inputs
They actually mean,
One 3 gauge output
One 5/6 gauge output
Two 9/10 gauge output.
Spend the extra 10$ and get a good name brand because i couldnt fit any of my power wires in this...

The perfect solution with one caveat
This is a really nice clean solution but I found the wire openings to be very tight for the gauge of wire that it was rated for. I went ahead and found the drill bit that fit the hole then went one size up and drilled them out just a little. Worked perfectly and made the install much smoother. I REALLY like it except for the snug wire holes.
