Worked as described, good quality. Does not work with new Lightning connector, so mine is gathering dust on the shelf since I bought my i5.

Don't amp your ipod without one!

This item might be small but it is an essential component to portable hi-fi sound. If you want to use headphones that require more power than your ipod/itouch offers, this little cord bypasses the ipod's internal and amp and sends the signal straight to your external portable amp. This is essential for getting the best possible sound from your ipod. There are other cords out there that allow you to do the same thing, but they cost a ton more! Excellent portable solution that allows buying an external portable amp to make sense.

The L10 is really useful when you're amping from a desktop amp, like the Fiio E9 or an Objective2. The L9 does the same thing but the cord is very small making switching songs on your ipod tedious and ungainly. The L10 gives extra room so that your ipod doesn't have to be two inches from your amp! Perfect for desktop use!

Tale of two plugs

I got the L9 and L10 docking plugs. The L9 is the short one, but is still useful in tight areas. Both plugs appear to be of good quality. I haven't had the plugs long enough to know of any issues.

For the money you can't beat it. Construction is good and it allows me to bypass the headphone jack and amplifier. So contributes to better sound.

The retractable feature is the only way to go, prevents the extra cord from getting in the way or caught on something, the ninety degree end keeps the cord from sticking out providing a cleaner look. It's a good quality piece, I recommend.
