Got this product mainly to view my videos on the iPad during flights. On the original iPad earphone I could barely hear any dialogue. With the Sony MDR-NC13 with a flick of a switch everything became clear. Speeches clarity is excellent. To a point I could feel the bass from background music, bomb blast etc.
If there's any downside it would be the weight of the battery pack.
