For over two decades, AudioControl has been designing and manufacturing award-winning autosound products at our factory located in the rainforests of the Pacific Northwest. During this period, countless sound-off winning contestants have chosen AudioControl products to give them the competitive edge. "Can you really win without AudioControl", was part of an article written commenting on competition winning systems. Nothing sounds better than an awesome recording played back on a kickbutt system. Unfortunately, the acoustics of your vehicle can take away from your systems performance. While AudioControl products do not change the laws of physics (although they act like they do), autosound enthusiasts have long known that AudioControl products "make good stereo sound better".
The AudioControl LC7i, six channel active line converter, allows all music lovers, who want a great in-car audio experience, to keep their factory installed source unit and dramatically improve their system performance. The LC7i delivers amazing sound quality and fixes one of the biggest letdowns of today's factory systems, weak BASS!
Designed for maximum sound quality and enhanced audio performance, the LC7i is the latest AudioControl processor to incorporate AccuBASS™. This patent pending process automatically corrects for the bass roll-off that is common with many factory-installed audio systems and AudioControl's unique and exclusive AccuBASS™ patent pending circuitry maintains and restores the Bass as the volume is turned up, improving the audio performance.
The LC7i allows the flexibility of powering the audio signals downstream to single or multiple factory amps maximizing sound quality & achieving high output at a great price. In addition, the LC7i is designed to fit into a compact chassis allowing an easy & flexible factory system upgrade in today's space constrained vehicles. The ACR-1 dash remote (sold separately) allows the user to control the level of the low frequency output.
Most factory speaker systems are not capable of loud, clean bass reproduction, all in order to "protect" the OEM Speakers. This is why many car manufacturers restrict bass frequencies at higher volumes. AudioControl's AccuBASS™ Bass Compensation circuit corrects the roll off that occurs at high volume levels, delivering killer bass at all volumes! The AccuBASS circuit automatically engages at a preset volume level and reverses the factory bass roll-off to give you the music the way the artist intended it to be heard.
The LC7i has the unique ability to internally sum together multiple (4 or 6) input channels from the factory source unit into 2 channels. This is particularly handy when using the LC7i with a factory system that has multiple, actively crossed-over signals being sent from the OEM source unit or amplifier(s). For example, in some vehicles there is an actively crossed-over tweeter, midrange, and woofer all in the front of the vehicle. The LC7i lets you take all of those signals and sum them together to get a high-quality, full-range, pre-amp signal without the use of any additional cables or hardware.
Most factory-installed source units lack the features that make it easy to upgrade with really good-sounding, performance aftermarket products. One of those key features is a 12-volt trigger that will turn on devices like the LC7i and your external amplifiers. Therefore, we have equipped your LC6i with our unique GTO™ (Great Turn On) signal-sensing inputs. Once the GTO input of your LC7i detects a speaker-level signal on the Main Inputs, it powers up. When the speaker-level signal goes away, your LC6i will automatically turn-off. Optionally, your LC7i is also equipped with a standard 12-volt trigger (Remote In) that will allow you to turn on your LC7i in the traditional manner.
Sometimes in life (and car audio) we need more outputs than inputs. Therefore we have equipped your LC6i with AutoMode inputs that take the Channel 2 signal and automatically feeds it to the Channel 3 outputs, provided there is no signal present on the Channel 3 inputs. This means your LC7i will accept two input channels and give you four output channels. Or it can accept four input channels and give you six output channels.
Since you will be using an external amplifier(s) and processor in your system, you will need the ability to "trigger" or turn-on these devices (a romantic dinner won't quite work here). Your LC7i has a high-current 12-volt output (labeled Remote Out) that will provide a trigger to these remote devices, when the LC7i is powered up. Please note that this output is not to be used as the main power for these devices.

Failed Purchase
The first thing I noticed is that the colors of the RCA jacks do not coincide with the L and R markings on the case. L is colored red and R is colored white... no big deal really, just annoying. The main problem is that the Accubass function does not work. Once in a while it will kick in and get really loud for just a few seconds and go back off. I just turned it all the way down and don't use it. At first I hated the sound of my new installation. The Polk MM6501 front channels sounded extremely harsh and unnatural. I eventually moved those incoming speaker leads to channel 2 and they sound great. What I have found is that the first channel of the unit is unusable. Anything I put through it sounds horrible. Channels 2 and 3 work so I'm only using them. Their quality control needs some work.

This solved all of my problems when it came to integrating amps, speakers and subs with my factory stereo.
It gave me the RCAs I needed to connect both my 4-channel and mono amp and corrected the loss of bass I was experiencing when I was using a cheaper LOC.
The other thing I like is each channel has independent gain control. My buddy that helped install it also pointed out that it was good I bought this instead of LC6 which is a little cheaper because of the accubass feature which like I said I am basically in love with. :)

First of all, I love AudioControl. The manual provided with the LC7i was exceptional. Even had some humor laced into it. And when I still had questions, I called their help line. They put me on with a tech that I swear must have designed the thing - very knowledgable. Great customer support.
I don't have much experience with LOC's so I don't know how the LC7i compares to others. What I do know is that the AccuBass bass restoration feature is only active on Channel 3 (the sub channel). So it will not restore bass for your fronts or rears. Probably OK if you're going to run a sub.

I installed 2 amplifiers in my 2013 Kia Sorento with the 10 speaker Infinity system. I wanted to keep the factory head unit and therefore had to keep the factory amp. The LC7i made the conversion from the speaker outputs of the factory amp to inputs for my new amps.
