Kicker 40TCWRT124 (TCWRT124) (Open Box)

Great sub!

I bought this sub to put under the back seat of a 2011 Silverado Crew Cab and it fits PERFECTLY! Granted it's a shallower than normal shallow mount, so you won't get the real deep pounding bass from it, but it sounds great regardless. Very simple hook-up, had the amp installed before the sub came, so I just had to hook up the sub and it was off and running. The box looks frickin sweet, too. I would recommend this to anyone that is looking for a little extra bass in a confined area, such as under a seat or in a small trunk.

Hit's Hard!

I have it behind the seat of an 84 Toyota standard cab pick up (a tad big for that, but, I make due) and it is pushed by a Kicker CX600.1 which is pushing 647 watts RMS because I have the sub wired at 2 ohms. This thing hits hard! I am amazed at how well it performs. I get no distortion at high volumes and the bass is loud and clean!

Spectacular

I definitely recommend this sub. The box construction is great and the sub has been able to take everything I can throw at it without distortion. I'm definitely impressed with how low it gets considering it's in a sealed box. The lowest I can actually hear or feel it go is around 60 db with the amp and stereo tuned correctly. I just bought a Pioneer 12'' Champion Pro sub and a ported box to accompany it so that I can get some lower notes and deeper bass drops, but other than that it has exceeded all expectations and the sound quality is phenomenal.

Shallow mount has trade-offs

This sub is perfect for amps up to about 400 watts RMS. I know it is rated for 800W RMS, but it cannot handle the load. Thinking it was a defective sub I replaced it with the same model only to realize this model can't handle that amount of power. I've owned several Kicker subs throughout the years and have enjoyed their original Comps and Solo-Barics which have taken a beating and kept on performing. Sadly these models are not the same. I am aware they are shallow mount and will not hit as hard as their other 12" models, but the trade-off to save space is not worth it unless you are looking for low to decent levels of bass.

Nice sound for a small size

I bought this to save a little space in the trunk. the sound is much better then I expected from one 12 inch shallow mount in a sealed box. it was meant to replace 2 12 inch polk DB subs in a ported box, although the sound isn't nearly as much it also is destroying my VW in the process it adds a richness to the sound and can be turned up to still a loud level but it will bottom out with large bass drops. for the purpose of saving space and enhancing an otherwise stock system this is a top notch choice. I highly recommend especially if your short on space and need good deep sound. I wish it did have a guard/cover to protect the sub.

Excellent Product

Bought this for my Jeep Wrangler 2 Door and I love it!!! Fits in the very limited space I have while providing plenty of bass! Plenty of bang for the buck!!
