The quality of your headphones doesn't matter if you don't have a connection to match. HiFiMAN designed the HE-6 with XLR outputs for use with balanced connection amplifiers. The screw terminals on each ear cup ensure a secure connection. Each connection uses a separate ground lead for each channel to significantly reduce unwanted crosstalk between channels.
