Is this a solution for new cars that don't offer CD players? Looking at a Kia Soul that has a great sound system but no CD player. Maybe I'm old fashioned - but I don't want to have to transfer all my CDs to something else. It has USB and AUX jack. Not sure what is meant by a CAM head unit or requires CAM-CD10CABLE CD changer to receiver cable - can you educate me and suggest a solution to add a CD player to a new car? Thank you.

Best Answer: Hello Sue,

Not necessarily. Custom Auto Sound targets "classic cars" as its main market. Although it isn't impossible to integrate their products into a newer vehicle, we're afraid that this is not the most efficient option. As specified in the description, "Operates from the buttons on the USA-5, USA-630 or USA-66" - this implies you will need to take out the OEM headunit/stereo in order to operate the CD player. However, at that point you are better off replacing the headunit/stereo with one that has a built-in CD player (as opposed to adding a bunch of parts to get the same feature) . Morever, Add-On CD players (which is what you seek) is a very obsolete product line, and we do not carry such a product. We believe your best option is going to be to take out the factory stereo, and replacing it with a headunit that has the features you seek. If this is not an option you are interested in, then we're afraid you aren't going to get very far until you realize the only other option is going back to Kia to get their CD player option (assuming one exists), which will surely cost two, three or maybe four times more than simply getting into an aftermarket option. Give our sales team a call if you have any further questions.
