They hold their own on the front stage...
I wanted to upgrade the sound system in my Hyundai Santa Fe Sport, but needed tweeters that were slim enough to fit in the factory A pillar spots without any cutting or flush mounting. At first I tried a pair of JBL Stage components, but I had to greatly modify the tweeters to fit cleanly and they reached their limit at about 50W RMS. After doing a LOT more research, I picked up a pair of these Alpines and the installation was smooth as butter! They take every bit of my 75W RMS, and they are willing to play lower than my door panels would like which really helps me bring the bass to the front stage with my subs. The best compliment I can give is that I hear the fine detail in my highs and midrange, and they blend with the subs to the point that I think the drums are in front with me and not in the cargo area. I listen to every type of music, and these will play well with voices and with instruments, even EDM sounds good with these. For the price, I am very satisfied. The average listener won't need to turn these up as loud as I do, but they will hold their own against a decent low end and make your music sound great.

A pretty nice Component Speaker
My front doors have 6.5's with 2 tweeters in the Dash. These Alpine Type S speakers sound really good. My old car had type R Alpines so I feared that the Type S would be a step backwards. However this car isn't meant to have aggressive volume like my old installation did and they have really good sound! The one thing I don't particularly like is the new style of tweeter crossovers. Alpine assumes that you can easily run the tweeter crossover to the speaker. On my Volvo this would have been a huge undertaking as the door pass through really isn't aftermarket friendly. I ended up having to splice it into the amp speaker outs, which works ok but I would rather have a traditional crossover box.
