Usefull with some changes
Theme Boss HS-IR transmitter and headphones has proven to be useful for my application which is different from most people who purchase this device. First I do not use it in a car. I play music in a group and have an in ear monitor. I use the HS-IR to substitute for the in ear monitor giving me a wireless monitor. There were two modifications I had to make in order to make this work. I bought a 12v power supply so that I can use it with AC power. Then a connector allows me to use standard power cables. I also made a mounting adapter to attach this to the music stand. This takes care of the narrow range of angles where I can hear the headphones. The only remaining problem I have is the high frequency hiss that the HS- IR produces. For my application this is a minor problem since the sound I hear is loud enough to drown out the hiss. For listening to quieter music passages this could be a problem. It would be nice if the connections for power and audio were on the transmitter console using standard connectors - a standard power connector and a standard audio stereo jack.
