What is Bandpass?

Bandpass Enclosures are designed to get the best performance from the subwoofer and allow bass performance that would normally only be possible from a sealed or ported enclosure twice the size. In a Bandpass design the subwoofer is placed inside the enclosure where it can be worked much harder, with increased pressure on the front and back of the cone. Overall Bandpass Enclosures result in better efficiency from the subwoofer and amplifier, considerably more volume, greater bass presence and a bigger, deeper bass sound. The BlackAir Bandpass push enclosure engineering to the extreme, producing unbelievable levels of bass previously unheard of from an enclosure of this size.

  • Unique cone support is specially designed for rigidity without excessive weight
  • Dual spider assists with the control and stability of the cone, as well as higher power handling
  • FEMM Motor provides low distortion and linear flux saturation
  • FEA Cone is designed using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to ensure maximum rigidity to weight
  • Alloy torsion basket provides rigidity and support for motor and moving parts
  • Removable rubber boot for greater magnet protection
  • Aluminum alloy gasket is made from high quality machined aluminum
  • Screw input terminals allow for heavier gauge speaker wire to be connected to the voice coil
  • 2" Aluminum 4-layer voice coil
  • Single 60 oz. ferrite magnet
