Great Buy

This stereo lived up to what I was looking for, which was a top-notch smaller and portable one. The sound quality is great and the "bass boost" works well. Superb volume low or (easily) high. Single disk CD player has no issues so far. Nice and stylish as well. Definitely worth a few bucks more.

Acceptable sound

We replaced a Sony XPLOD G700 with this. The difference in sound was "Big". The Sony ZS-S50CP (even with the "mega base") was very tinny. It is a very nice looking unit (that was the primary reason for purchase) but fell short of the sound quality that I expected from Sony. Fortunately, the XPLOD has moved to the shop where it can "do it's thing" and the ZS is on a shelf in the house, looking nice.

perfect!

i had no idea how hard it was to find a good portable cd player or boom box. they seem like they are endangered species. at least for a quality one. there isnt much to compare it to, but if i had to it certainly destroys the little rca one i have in my garage. there is no punch to it. this has some power. i can hear it from the next room perfect. the radio reception is solid and consistent, the cd player works well. its just a great speaker system!

Sony's Still The Best!

Sony has always made the best stereos in my opinion. I did not want a pile of junk in my kitchen, so I thought I would get this. Well, now I have two of them. I love this boombox. The sound is second to none. Perfect functionality, its just great. has any feature I could desire, and again, it works. I am tired of these cheap radios and CD players that seem to be temperamental, or have mood swings. I would recommend this to someone, even myself :)
