Amazing set, don't bother looking at anything else
I have been a fan of Image Dynamics for quite a long time and they make some of the best products around. I got a new vehicle and found my old Image Dynamics components were having issues and could't mount the units separated anyways without serious modification so went for these and they do not disappoint! Very tight bass, loud mids and highs and they LOVE power!! I needed a set that could handle 100w rms and after browsing (hadn't looked at car audio in 7 years!) This set from Image Dynamics was well ahead of every other company, especially for the price!
Not going to find any cons here, realize you are buying a super high rms, high quality set but they are not separates (components). Also realize these are basically a 3" mounting depth and the tweeter will stick up about another 1/2 inch or so depending on how you aim them. And yes, you can aim the attached tweeters with great variability on the positioning!

Pleased & Surprised
I kind of went out on a limb ordering these (came in a combo package with CTX-6.5cs the ID12 D4 and the RE Audio XTX-500.5) I had never heard of Image Dynamics until I had shopped around for a new system for my 04 Trailblazer. I am by no means an audiophile, but I know what sounds good, and these things do. You can definitely push things things without worrying.
Overall, these things have really impressed me. I honestly haven't really listened to these a lot (I don't sit in the back seats that often). From what I have heard though, these things are pretty clear. They can be just a little muddy in the midrange at times, but it could always be what I'm listening to. That and 2 way speakers are doing more work to cover what components do. They have a good amount of punch to them, even towards lower listening levels.
I don't know how good the real low end of these are, because I rely more on my sub to take care of that. What I do know is my system is one of the best I've personally heard in a car thanks in part to these. I would definitely recommend these.

Good Quality For The Price
A little background. Replaced the factory setup in a 2011 Toyota Prerunner (4 door) pickup. Used ID 12 sub behind the seat. a Set of CTX-65's n the back doors. and 65 series components in the front doors. Running the CTX's off of head unit power believe it or not from a Kenwood Excelon. These really would sound great at about 125 watts give or take each of clean power but I did not want the headache of pushing the stock charging/battery system to power another external amp. intention of these speakers in the doors is to fill in between the sub and the front anyway. Great mid bass! mid range is decent not exceptional and the tweeters are good at the 25 or so watts running though them. Crossed over at 60HZ on up th eo do the trick. They would not hit as hard as the component set no matter what the power but are close and a great compliment. Both the CTX-65 and component equivalent are bass heavy which suits me fine. I also have deadened the doors and interior with Fatmat a great idea for many reasons...run these with a minimum of 60 watts each of good power and they'd be fine or use them to simply fill in and transition between the sub and front and you can run them with less power but cross them over for clean sound. I run Linear Power amps modded by TIPS to put out about double wattage at .001% distortion on the rest of the system and these fill in fine but wouold be awesome at 60-100 watts of clean power I may add an amp for them later on currently the entire system is right at 1300 total watts.

must buy
Sound great. Can't be beat at this price. Make sure you are using an amp to run these, head unit power isn't near enough.

Amazing Value
I'm certainly a newbie when it comes to car audio and after countless hours of research I decided to call Sonic Electronix and inquire with one of their employees. The gentleman was not only helpful, but also gave me a superb price for these speakers. I was skeptical at first, but upon receiving them and having it professional installed there was a clear difference from the stock Bose that came with my Infiniti G20. The first few days I listened at loud volume and the bass wasn't as impressive as I thought it be, certainly not better than the stock rear speakers. But on the 3rd day, WOW!!! I was amazed at how clear these speakers were even at full volume the sound were crystal clear. On a scale of 1-10, I'd say the Bass response is about a 7. It won't rattle your windows or car, but it's tight and well suite for listening inside your car. I'm an audio engineer and have always been keen on things like frequency and sound placement. Needless to say, these speakers have provided me with the comfort of winding my windows up and listening to a track and being engulfed in pure audio bliss. I highly recommend these speakers to anyone working with a budget. On a final note, you will definitely need an Amp and Subwoofer.

Have these hooked up to a Precision Power I1000.4. They are loud and clear. These are awesome.

Awesome!
Just dropped these in to replace a set of Polk DB651's. No comparison these are sweet coax's. Much beefier magnet than the Polk's and can handle 100W Rms each, which is tough to find in a coax. Love em so far!

surprisingly a good speaker
When I ordered speakers I was a little leery at first .Because I was trying to stay with household brands. And I had ordered some Cerwin Vega speakers in past and speakers needless to say were a joke . So when I seen these ID `s .I was doing my research on them and wanted to make sure I didn`t waste anymore money on inferior products. I must say for thr price these speakers are probably the best bang for your buck speakers I have purchased. They are LOUD!.. I have them running in my Harley and they are a Beast with the proper tuning they crank. Sure their are higher quality speaker out there but for the price theses are vicious. Btw ..to truly appreciate these beast you need to feed them power ..
