NVX's VC-Series car subwoofers are about to blow you away. The VCW154 is a jack-of-all-trades and has been engineered to the highest standards. The woven fiber pressed paper cone and custom High Roll foam surround with Nylon stitching help reproduce tight and accurate bass, keeping cone distortion to a minimum even at the highest volume levels. The next key components in the design of the VCW154 are the large dual 3" High Temperature Aluminum voice coils and triple stacked motor structure. These features combined help this sub handle some serious power at 850-1000 Watts RMS. The dual voice coils also give you many options for different Ohm load wiring configurations. With all the above engineering elements combined, the VCW154 subwoofer gives you better sound and build quality than many subs costing almost twice as much. Plus, they will sound great in a small sealed enclosure for those who do not have a lot of space!
Surround: Most materials used in commercial subwoofer surrounds rip and tear at peak levels. Keeping this in mind, the NVX team developed a custom high-roll foam surround that gives their subs improved linearity and MORE output. Combining that with high-strength adhesive and nylon stitching means that this subwoofer will last through some serious audio output!
Basket: The 3-dimensional cast provides outstanding strength while keeping the subwoofer light due to the aluminum construction. Aluminum is a non-ferrous metal, which means the basket will not interfere with the magnetic energy of the voice coil and motor structure.
Spiders: The Dual Poly-Cotton Spiders are designed to be durable and long-lasting. They give the voice coil the suspension it needs and restore the subwoofer to its normal resting position with ease.
Voice Coil: The 3" (2.5" for the VCW102 and VCW 104) High Temperature Aluminum Voice Coil along with the triple-stacked magnet give massive power handling capability for the VC Series Subwoofers. The effective heat dissipation of the voice coil allows you to play the subwoofer louder without distortion.
CEA-2031 Compliant: All CEA-2031 compliant loudspeakers adopt the same testing and measurement methods so comparing them side by side is easy. Loudspeakers include car speakers and subwoofers. The Consumer Electronics Association created new testing and measurement methods for mobile loudspeaker systems that define test procedures for rating the performance and physical size of speakers. This is important because you can now compare different speakers on the same playing field. Any manufacturers who adopt the CEA-2031 logo product mark can be compared evenly to other speaker manufacturers with the same mark.

Unbelievable deal
Grabbed one of these for a budget install and it's been great. I've got it in a 2.75cube box tuned to 33-34hz on only about 800w and it's loud in my hatch!
RM review
Only had it two days but here are my thoughts:
Cosmetic - 9/10 - looks like its been reconed. Excess glue around the dusk cap. It's not bad but if you look for it u see it. (its clear glue) Magnet on the back labels the woofer as an RM. But the basket, magnet, cone, surround, all look like new. If I added a new next to the RM, I doubt anyone would notice from the cone side.
Price - 10/10 - A driver with these stats at this price is almost impossible to beat. The SD X XMAX to $$$ ratio is very nice.
Sound - don't want to rate it just yet. It's very very stiff. I've read other reviews that it will loosen up and sound louder/deeper after the break-in and suspect that's true. Sub 40hz seems to struggle on the 1st hour of play but I am thinking this will get better, louder, and sound less compressed over time.
Loud - I think this driver is pretty efficient in small-ish port/sealed boxes. I can say this more because I've modeled it (winisd) but can confirm so after listening to it. I have it in a 2cuft net enclosure with PR tuned to 31hz. Not ideal but will see how this works out long term. DB wise its very loud. SQ wise will see. If it doesn't loosen up on the bottom end I may just switch to 2 cubes sealed instead.
Quality/Durability - It looks good it feels solid but can't say as I haven't had it long enough yet. I'm running it on 1000RMS. If I blow it, I'll probably just spend some more $$$ and go with a FI SSD15 instead.
