Great sound with OEM style looks
This unit is mechless (doesnt play CD) and thats why the price is low. It is packed with features you dont get with other units with a higher tag. The bluetooth is great with my S7, no degrade in volume, the aux cord helps if you have a cheap tablet or something without bluetooth, and thr front usb is pretty quick reading my usb drive. I do not know how big of a fladh drive it will read so I just load my music on 8 gig drives and its solid. The pandora set up lets you control pandora on android, but works almost the same through regular bluetooth without the channel saving or set up. Full control with skip and pause. Iheart radio does as well. The EQ and MANY speaker level features can be a bit complicated when tuning more than the basic oem prefab EQs, but it is well worth it. I got this unit with some Pioneer basalt fiber 5x8s and a Rockford Prime 4 channel. Very well put together, and the look... some say it looks basic and cheap, but i think it has an OEM style.
The only negatives i give this is that there are a few too many features, but this is also the way I use it. The other negative is the visual display affects look like they are just thrown in as some additional somethin somethin... not needed. Keep it basic and it looks cleaner.
If i were to change anything it would be to give it a upgraded display with some back grounds.

Nice replacement for the old KDC-X979!!
First off, I've rocked Kenwood HU's since the 80's. I've had nothing else so to break tradition and go Pioneer was almost uncomfortable. I was looking to join the tech savvy and go digital. I like idea of mechless and that Alpine had me drooling but was out of my fiscal range. I sought the a ILX-007 "wannabe" for cheap and I found this X690BS. I am quite satisfied (and surprised) how well this deck bumps! F/R/SUB outputs, big, readable display, clean sound.
Note: it is NOT a clean, unobstructed fit in a Challenger. You WILL have to trim (Dremel/band sander) two slightly obstrusive crossbars in the double din slot (simple enough). Having said all that, it is STILL a simple install!
Pioneer is no slouch and for $100 you get a tech savvy deck with a few bells & whistles and clean sound. Crossovers, illumination for the discotech effect, but that 13 band EQ sealed the deal. Yes, it looks a bit cheesy, maybe even cheap, BUT it only cost $100! It's the sound and flexibility that is important here.
Conversely, I helped my brother install a newer $79 Kenwood BT deck last year and getting his fone to connect was like pulling worm teeth! This here is so simple at every turn.
BTW, the reviewer above said you won't be sorry. He did not lie.
Two thumbs up on this one...

Great value and a lot of options on this deck
My daughter loves her new stereo and the installer was surprised at all the options this deck has in its system.

Who needs a CD player anymore?
This is a great unit. You won't need a CD player any longer. The Apps are great, Bluetooth is great Being able to use the AUX input and USB input is a breeze as well. I like the additional EQ features and the ability to adjust the frequency levels as well for the mids, highs and lows. The only issue I do not like, is NOT having voice control for my Android device.
Pioneer has been my go to manufacturer for headunits for years and they have come a long way. They should be able to supply the same features for an Android device as they do for a Crapple device..

Top Notch
I mean, if you're not going in for the whole touch screen and want a media player that just works, this is the thing to buy. The buttons are so simple a monkey could do it. Good power. Sounds excellent. I have nothing but accolades to heap on this unit.

BEST HEAD UNIT I'VE OWNED TO DATE!!!!
I would most definitely recommend this to any installer from entry level to extreme bass head. I just installed and all I can say is wow! The arc app is amazing over Bluetooth with iPhone 6s Plus, a big plus to not have to sync over USB anymore for the arc app. Low Pre-amp voltage, but nothing that can't be fixed with a equalizer or line driver to up the voltage from 2v to 6v or more to get better signal if desired. No complaints or cons to it other than the fact it's not touchscreen, but the ability to use your phone with the arc app more than makes up for it, making it easier to navigate the radios features. Click add to cart and don't look back you won't regret it! Low durability rating as I have yet to own it a full day yet to tell. We update review in 6 months to let you guys know though!
