They look kinda strange but sound really good
The headphones sound good. I'm a big fan of the sound. very spacious, detailed, and open. They are very enjoyable to listen to. The winged headband fitment design looks freaking weird, but actually makes a lot of sense. They are lightweight, put low pressure on the head, are really comfortable, and don't mess up my hair like other headphones. Yeah, I worry about my hair. I'm sick of wearing headphones that are heavy and leave a big divot in my hair right before I walk into a work meeting.
I highly recommend these headphones. The price was a little high for what I was accustomed to paying for headphones, but I have no buyers remorse. 100% worth it.
PROS
- They are open back so the sound is more spacious and clear. This is the sound I prefer.
- Very comfortable.
- Detachable cables
- Headband fitment "wings" are lightweight and don't mess up my hair
CONS
- They are open back so all my co-workers hate me when I listen loudly.
- The detachable cables are proprietary to Audio Technica... which means expensive replacement or finding some other off-brand that is cheap
- Higher impedance so an amp is preferred (I use the Apogee Groove on my Mac. its legit)

One of my favorite headphones!
These headphones are awesome! I have had the opportunity to try out a very wide variety of headphones ranging from the consumer level all the way up to the professional studio level and the Audio Technica ATH-R70X are definitely a solid set. The headphones are very comfortable and lightweight that sometimes after long periods of listening I forget that I am even wearing them. I like that these headphones do not have as much sound leakage as most open back headphones and have great dynamic range. The lows, mids and highs are super clean and precise with a well balanced sound stage. I would definitely recommend using an amplifier to get the most out of these headphones.

Crystal Clear!
Upon un-boxing these headphones I noticed they feel very well constructed. Now before you take my review into consideration, I use these headphones for my Android. I listen to alot of Spotify and sometimes I use Power Amp with music downloads around 350kbps.
First impression of these headphones after listening to a couple of my favorite songs:
1) They are super clear! Perfect for rock, indie rock, classic rock etc.
2) Not very Bassy... at all. (Which is a let down for me) I like to listen to a lot of Dubstep, underground hip-hop... basically all music that takes advantage of bass..
All and all, these are awesome headphones! But keep in mind these are not for those who are looking for something bassy. These headphones are geared towards the person looking to enjoy some classic rock, Jazz, etc....

Beautiful Sound
These are the best sounding earbuds I've ever tried.
Sound is very clear and well balanced. I am impressed with the build quality. The detachable cable and ear loops seem to be very durable. They come with four different eartip sizes. In my case, the fit was very comfortable and snug right out of the box. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase.

Totally immersed!
As an owner of the ATH-M50X's I thought i would give these a try.
Firstly, these did not disappoint! Compared to a lot of other earbuds on the market these have to be the cleanest sounding for the price range. These are not by any means designed for BASSHEADS. Although, the mid and lower scale is definitely distinguishable and blends nicely with everything else. These definitely do tune out the surrounding noise to immerse you into the audio experience. Not to forget these are extremely comfortable for in ear headphones. I have listened for quite a few hours in one sitting and did not experience any ear fatigue. EXTREMELY comfortable.
Secondly, the packaging is rather simple. Although it is known that Audio-Technica puts more money into the quality of the headphones rather than unneeded cost into fancy packaging. It is nice also that they include a nice carry case with extra tips and the 3.5mm to phono adapter.
Overall I would say these are best for anyone looking for a clean, clear and full sound for the money. They work awesome for someone who is on the go and wants to use a smartphone. And even fr the person behind the mixing board of a studio. Audio-Technica has a great proven track record with their products.
