Not sure what they're talking about
These subs are terrible. I originally purchased three a few years back to try to get into car audio comps. I had two of these on an audiobahn a2300hcq (2400 watt amp @13.5 volts @ 1 ohm). I blew all three speakers within a week. They can't handle 1200 rms. There's a reason the specs say 1100 watts.
Needless to say, these subs were a big waste of money. Don't even get me started on shipping prices back and forth when I warrantied them. If you're in the market for these, take a look at the Digital Designs 3500 series. It's more expensive (399), but you'll save in the long run because you won't have to replace it.
When I received the warranty replacements, I took one and used it as a boat anchor, the rest I gave to some high school kid that inevitably blew them as well on a much weaker amp than my own.
Do not buy these speakers.

yeee
I had one of these subs an WOW. I had an off brand 2000wat max amp in a duel ported box. When i pulled up to gas stations the windows would move an rattle :) awesome sub. The people who talk crap bout this sub have no idea. You dont always have to run the max power to the sub. Just gotta run true rms!!!!

GREAT SUB!!!!!!!!!!
I owned one of these bad boys and let me tell you, this sub will BANG!!!! I was only pushing a little less than 900 watts to it and people would always be like "do you have two 12's" and they would be shocked when I showed them just one sub. This is a HEAVY sub and is very well made. I am trying to now get two and I know I will have NO problem being heard when I pull up!!!!!!!

I have 5 splw-12
Overall this sub has a heavy competition bass sound it's components such as the motor and basket and 4 inch coil and aluminum dustcap play a big role in why this speaker is amazing to move almost an inch and produce heavy tight bass but the down fall on this sub is the tinsel leads if you reconnect new thicker tinsel leads and seal the tinsel leads from rubbing and flex you will have a monster that get s*** done
