The material is peeling off inside my door. How do I fix this?

Heat and gravity are tough on doors. Clean the metal with denatured alcohol first to remove grease. Use an NVX SDRLR1 roller to firmly bond the 90mil butyl to the surface, ensuring no air bubbles remain.

I still hear road noise after installing the kit. Did I do it wrong?

Noise bleeds through gaps. Ensure the NVX SDBDK12 covers as much of the inner metal skin as possible. For maximum silence, add a layer of NVX BFK12 closed-cell foam over the damping mat to block airborne sound.

Is a heat gun required for the SDBDK12 installation?

It isn’t mandatory, but it helps the 90mil material conform to the door's complex curves. If the weather is cold, warming the NVX SDSK2 or SDBDK12 sheets makes the adhesive much more aggressive for a permanent bond.

The thick 90mil material is blocking my window from rolling down. What to do?

This happens if the mat is too close to the window track. Trim the edges back with an NVX utility knife. Always "dry fit" and test your window clearance before fully rolling the material down with your NVX roller.

Is one SDBDK12 kit enough to stop my door speakers from rattling?

One kit covers two standard doors. If you have high-output midbass, you may need extra mass. We recommend adding a second layer of NVX SDSK2 directly behind the speaker magnet to kill back-wave distortion.

Pliable and sticky even in cooler condittions

I like it! it was in the closet and I took it to the garage it was 45º this stuff still conformed to the curves and stuck like crazy even in the cold!
Love the color I was using another brand (silver) and where the seat doesn't cover its highly visible black makes it blend in with my black truck.
looks nice and deadens like it should!

Good value.better than name brands.

I bought this after using the chrome version of this. I liked that it was black and had a “better look” than the chrome one. Even do it says it’s the same thickness as the chrome one it feels thinner but the same thickness as the stinger roadkill. I did find that it was easier to work with than the other nvx version and stinger. It is still a good value and has hold up since 2017 in the Northern California weather. If I had too choose between the nvx chrome one and this black version I would go for this one if looks was a concern other wise the chrome version is a better value.
