Excellent subwoofer
This woofer is incredible! I have one in a 3.5 cu.ft. ported enclosure, and its flat out amazing!! So impressed i bought another and am going to double up on them.
Extremely tight, controlled and POWERFUL.
Very accurate and insanely responsive, never heard any other sub that can hit as fast and clean as the stroker.
Ive seen them running on 5000w rms and they handle it, but i'm powering it with a stroker pro 2600.1 and thats plenty to drive it.
Now for the cons:
Yes, it is expensive, but if you're looking for exceptionally CLEAN and powerful bass, it doesn't come cheaply, regardless of the manufacturer. You get what you pay for, plain and simple. This subwoofers performance justifies its price tag. Also, if you plan on pushing your equipment to its absolute limits and you're considering buying this woofer, a call to Cerwin Vega beforehand might be a good idea just to see about rebuild kits or services, its a patented design so i'd imagine no one but Cerwin Vega offers parts for it.
That being said, i would absolutely recommend this woofer to anyone who is looking for incredibly pure, audiophile quality bass at live concert sound levels.
Very well made monster of a subwoofer, and it will last forever if its not abused or overpowered. I still have Cerwin Vega vega series woofers from 1998 that sound just as good today as they did back then.
