The MTX Inverted Apex Surround increases the surface area of the sub to allow for more air movement, accurate bass reproduction and higher SPL. Traditional Half-Roll Surrounds have an inherent wrinkling when reproducing bass due to the physics of its motion, which causes distortion. The Inverted Apex Surround moves symmetrically through both positive and negative cycles which eliminates this type of distortion. With an Xmax of 1.25" and the increased surface diameter, the design of this sub creates an increased SPL output.
The glass fiber cone provides this subwoofer with a stiffnes to weight ratio that allows it to have a lower weight and increased sensitivity. With this design, the subwoofer creates a higher SPL while using lower power. Couple that with the Inverted Surround and you have efficient movement and power.
Three features really make sure the superwoofer stay cool: the Spider Plateau Venting, Internal Voice Coil Heatsink and the Radial Ribbed T-Yoke. The Spider Plateau Venting is a mechanical cooling process that targets cool air at the voice coil. This means the subwoofer cools itself as it is playing. The second feature, the internal voice coil heatsink, is a mechanical cooling process. As the subwoofer continuously cycles, it circulates hot air for cool air at the voice coil. Finally, the integrated Radial Ribbed T-Yoke. This is where the backplate absorbs heat from the voice coil and radiates it to the back of the subwoofer away from the voice coil. This acts as a heat sink that dissipates heat and decreases distortion. These three features ensure this subwoofer will play for a long time and at high levels!

OK wire if you like red wire
I received this wire because when I bought my Image Dynamics speakers from Sonic the description said it included speaker wire in the box, but when I received them there was none. I called Sonic and they sent this wire to make up for the error. I later called Image Dynamics and found out that they no longer include speaker wire with their speakers so Sonic if you are reading this you can update your description and pictures on the ID speakers to NOT show speaker wire. For the record I bought the Image Dynamics CTX65cs and the CTX4 speaker sets. Great speakers by the way. Thanks Sonic for all your great products and sound advice, no pun intended:)

Nice Box
Very well designed Box. The carpet on this box is really nice and the box looks perfect. I have a kicker cvr 15 in this box and it absolutely pounds!! Oh yea and if you have a New body Style(04-08) f-150 it will fit in the space between the passenger seat and the rear seat with the smaller rear seat on the passenger side flipped up and the box will face up.

Couldnt Ask for More!
Purchased this box for my JBL W15GTI MKII. For the amount paid and product received, its a great purchase. Couldn't have built this or have it built locally for even close to the price. Is it as good as a custom ported box? Probably not but that would be subjective but I love the SQ coming from it now. Can't comment on the durability because I've only had the box for about a week but I do not hear any leaks or rattles from the box. Connection pieces are solid. But best part of my experience with this purchase was the customer service given by 'Justin'. Gave me a great deal and got it shipped to my door within the week.... Couldn't ask for more. Would definitely recommend it.

Decent Enclosure
The box works great for my new Polk MM 15". It's a little bigger than the recommended 1.5 cubic ft. but it seemed like it would suffocate in a box that small. At the 50 dollar price point you can't hardly build yourself one for that and this one has quality connectors and it's built solid. Definitely recommend to someone looking for a 15" sealed box. And Sonic was great with shipping and customer service as always.

W/ 15" Kicker
This is a great looking box. Well designed and built. The carpeting looks amazing. It's big, but fits perfectly in my '99 Durango. I figured I would have to remove the 3rd seat when I saw it, but there's actually enough space where it isn't even touching the seat or rear door.
