Easily the best selling subwoofer driver, next to the W6v3, the JL Audio W3v3 provides phenomenal performance at moderate power levels with superb sound quality. The W3 series is in its 3rd iteration, embodying the series' pursuit for providing outstanding output and world-class sound quality. This is accomplished by utilizing a whole suite of advanced technologies originally developed for JL Audio's flagship W7. An Elevated Frame Cooling design helps in delivering enhanced power handling and sound quality. The DMA-optimized, long linear excursion capability minimizes distortion and increases output, while multiple patented technologies enhance performance and reliability. Such advances make the v3's the best sounding, most reliable W3's yet.
Although the W3v3 Subwoofer can be driven with as little as 150 Watts, for best audio performance it is recommended to run an amplifier capable of between 300 - 500 Watts of continuous power per driver, like the JL Audio XD600/1v2. In addition, these subwoofers are optimized to operate in either a ported or sealed enclosure, needing only 1.125 cubic feet of air space in a sealed box and 1.75 cubic feet in a ported/vented enclosure. (Specific dimensions and figures can be found in the user manual, linked further below.)
Like many other high quality JL Audio products, all W3v3 subwoofers are built in JL Audio's Miramar, Florida factory, with extreme precision and top-notch build quality. Its this attention to detail that delivers the JL Audio quality and performance we have all become accustomed to.
JL Audio's patented Elevated Frame Cooling design delivers cool air into the heart of the subwoofer in ways no other manufacture's driver can. Purpose-engineered slots located directly above the top-plate stream air to the voice coil. In addition, the upper surface of the top-plate is directly exposed to this air flow, whereas on a conventional design it is isolated from this flow by the lower flange of the frame. This technology not only increases thermal power handling, but also sound quality by minimizing dynamic parameter shifts and power compression. In plain English, this driver keeps itself cool so you can play your system longer, safer and without having to worry about frying the motor.
DMA is JL Audio's proprietary Dynamic Motor Analysis system and is aimed at improving dynamic motor behavior. As a result of DMA optimization, W3v3 motors remain linear in motor force over an extreme range of excursion and also maintain a highly stable fixed magnetic field in the gap over a wide power range. This leads to vastly reduced distortion and faithfully reproduced transients... or put simply: tight, clean, articulate bass. Its main catalyst is the driver's Ultra-long Voice Coil, that allows extreme linear excursion, phenomenal power handling and control, control, control.

12-inch Vented Car Sub Box Made with 3/4" MDF and lined w/ Polyfil (1.8 cu ft airspace 1SV12B)
Quantity: 1
You've got an awesome subwoofer there, pal. But where's it gonna go? You can't just throw that thing in the trunk and call it a day. Don't worry, Belva's got your back. With superior construction, great features and everything you need for bass, you'll be ready to pass up that entry-level box you've been eyeballing.
You get quality boxes with solid 3/4" MDF because nothing else will do the job right. You want to flex your windshield, not your box's innards. You get polyfill built into the box, making sure your subs perform perfectly. On top of that, you get a box that's CARB Phase 2 Compliant, meaning your box won't emit as much nasty formaldehyde as the competition. Better for your bass and better for you.

Look, nobody buys a subwoofer and says, 'Aw man, I just want a teeny bit of thump.' Naw man, you want something that kicks you in the chest, but you need a box that's gonna put up with it. That's where Belva comes in. While other brands use less-than-optimal 1/2-inch MDF, we've got 3/4-inch MDF to make sure you get all the bass you can handle. Why risk a busted box? Belva's the obvious choice when it comes to giving your sub a good home and giving you the low end you're looking for. |

good
Pretty well made box. The sub hole was a little too small for my 12" hcca but a little cutting solved that. I didn't have time to make my own box so this suited me realyl well.

Very very nice, exact specs below.
Very nice box. The carpet is nice and seems to be glued properly, although it does look like it might rub off in time. Build quality is very nice, feels very sturdy. There are some globs of dried glue on the exterior but nothing I can't get over. It would have been nice to not have the sub cutout so close to the port but that's just nitpicking. Doesn't come with wires internally but the terminals are much nicer than I've seen on other prefab boxes.
Regardless of what Belva has published, this box is not 1.8 ft.
The gross volume is 1.97 ft, but after taking into account port displacement, it's net volume is 1.30 ft. It's also tuned to 34.4 Hz. Determined using the Torres Speaker Box Calculator.

well built box
For the price it cannot be beat. This box meets the recommended size enclosure for the single sub i ordered, which is the Rockford P2D4. Ported to trick the sub its in a bigger box with poly fill lining. Well built and carpeted in dark gray. I highly recommend it. Hits lows hard and loud.

Not bad
So I bought one of the "Sonic Boxes" a couple years back and it was similar to this box but gray. The sonic box was better build quality. This box has a hole cut that is nowhere near center. It's up and to the right a bit, but that's what you get for a 55 dollar box I guess. The carpet around the ported has started to come unglued and the box hasn't had any play time what so ever. It seems to be mdf and 3/4". The dimensions are correct. Port tune is around 35 hz and net box size is around 1.4 cubic ft. The poly fill probably needs to be glued down so I will stay inside the box. The port used to be rounded on the inside with the sonic box now it is not. It is a good box to get by on since it is built pretty well, but I would recommend getting a box built to spec for the woofer you have for optimal sound. For 55 bucks it's not a bad way to get by, just don't expect the best for that price point.

Great Prefab box
I would highly recommend this box it sounds like it is tuned between 34-36hz hits lows really good unlike i was expecting since it is vented. I had a rockford fosgate p3 and it sounded amazing in the box and now I have an Alpine type S in there until my new p3 comes back in and the type s even sounds great i didnt think a type s would pound like it did. Good box would def recommend and buy again if need be.

Worth the space
I downgraded from a much larger box to this one and noticed no difference. Saved me some space, though it's still pretty big, and handles the sub perfectly. Feels sturdy and looks good.

Awesome box
This box sounds great coupled with a Pioneer Champion Series Pro and 1500 watt amp. Very deep bass tones and very loud. Definitely would recommend.
