A must buy
I purchased this adaptor for my Audi 100 which had the factory Bose sound system. The main reason I purchased the adaptor was because the factory system blew out on me.
Installation was fairly easy. Anyone that has the Bose system you will only need 4 wires. The Yellow Constant Power wire, Red accessory wire, Black ground wire and if you wish the orange dimmer wire. The other 16 wires are useless. You will however need to run new wire from an aftermarket deck to all new speakers. DO NOT USE STOCK BOSE SPEAKERS!! They are all 1 ohm "Which I confirmed with a multi-meter" and will fry any head unit you hook them up too over a short time. Most aftermarket amps aren’t even 1 ohm stable so please keep this in mind.
If you don’t have the Bose system you may be able to use the speaker wires if they do indeed lead to a speakers but test the speakers just in case. If they are 1 or 2 ohms replace them. The Audi wiring is ridiculous and this makes things simple, clean, and doesn’t require you to cut into you're stock harnesses.
I highly recommend this for anyone that needs to replace the Bose system in their Audi or VW vehicles. But keep in mind this is NOT a plug and play ordeal. You will need to do a lot of work to replace that Stock Bose system.
You will need this adaptor so you don’t need to rewire or splice the 3 required wires. An antenna adaptor I recommend the Raptor AD-VW1, if you have two antenna connections just use one.
At least 100ft of new wire with all new speakers. You can also upgrade to a 4 ch amp and get stronger speakers if you don’t want to run off the head unit’s power. Amp installation kit required.
I really do recommend this product. It has all the correct wires you will need and then some. This adaptor is a necessity for anyone needing to replace a Bose system in their Audi and VW vehicles. It's not easy but has to be done.
Sonic Electronix was great. This was my first purchase from them and I could not be happier. They have the best prices I have ever seen and have great shipping. If I ever need anything else Sonic Electronix will definitely be my first stop. Sorry for being so long winded but I hope this helped you out.
