JL Audio's sealed ProWedge subwoofer enclosure is loaded with the 10th Anniversary Edition W7 Series 13" subwoofer. The JL woofer features a peak power rating of 3000 watts and a continuous RMS rating of 1500 watts. This sub will produce some ground shaking bass and is constructed with a W-cone woofer design for ultimate durability and a OverRoll surround for excellent excursion and accuracy. It's massive force air-cooled aluminum alloy frame will keep this W7 subwoofer operating at safe temperatures at all times. Since this a special 10th anniversary edition woofer, JL has given it their unique anniversary edition badging and labeling so everyone knows what you're rolling with.
The subwoofer is loaded into high quality V-groove MDF sealed enclosure that is covered with high grade black carpeting. This compact enclosure features a rear firing design that provides a very detailed and smooth response. It also comes equipped with a gloss black laminate front baffle trim that includes engraved JL Audio and W7 logos and 3 stylish brushed aluminum rods that provide protection for the W7 subwoofer. This top of the line loaded enclosure will enhance any vehicles sound system.
Although the 13W7AE Subwoofer can be driven with as little as 500 Watts, for best audio performance it is recommended to run an amplifier capable of between 750 - 1200 Watts of continuous power per driver, like the JL Audio HD750/1, JL Audio HD1200/1, or - best of all - JL Audio 1200/1v3.
By utilizing space wasted in conventional speakers, JL Audio's ground-breaking OverRoll™ Surround controls the W7's massive excursion without sacrificing precious cone area. In addition, the W-Cone™ assembly delivers astonishing cone stiffness with minimal mass. The shape also provides incredible torsional rigidity, which is critical to maintaining voice coil alignment at the suspension limits. Combined, these two technologies allow for the driver to achieve extraordinary linear excursion (Xmax), therefore providing that rich JL Audio bass.
DMA is JL Audio’s proprietary Dynamic Motor Analysis system and is aimed at improving dynamic motor behavior. As a result of DMA optimization, W7AE motors remain linear in motor force over an extreme range of excursion and also maintain a highly stable fixed magnetic field in the gap over a wide power range. This leads to vastly reduced distortion and faithfully reproduced transients... or put simply: tight, clean, articulate bass. This is hands down the best creation from the minds at JL Audio headquarters. Not only is this subwoofer beautiful, it catches each and every bass note with accuracy, clarity, and authority. I have owned the 12W7s and other lesser named subwoofers, from 12 inches up to 18 inches, and I can say that without a doubt, this is what I will be spending my money on until something better comes from the house of JL. Pair with the HD 1200/1 and you will want to spend the night in your car just to hear some bass. Thank you Sonic!

The best of the best
I would recommend you get one of these if you like sq/spl. I say that because technically it’s a sound quality sub but oh my God can it get loud if you want it to. I have this exact sub in my show car ran off the JL HD1200/1 with all JL highs and Alpine HU and it sounds so great very warm natural sound, noise floor is non existent like when there isn’t music playing you hear nothing I love that. And the box is well built and is very nice complements the sub very well.

With the correct amp and head unit this rocks
I originally hooked it up to my old heading that I bought in 2001. It did not have enough features to get the sub tuned correctly. With the old head unit it was loud and sounded ok. One I installed the new head unit with my backup camera, I reset the amp gains and bass boost. This sub came very much alive. The problem I have now is I need to dynomatt the roof of my truck because it vibrates to much.
