The X-8 v.3 is widely regarded as one of the top-performing 8" subwoofers on the market, and remains a fan favorite after over four years of continuous production.
It outclasses the previous v1 and v2 models in every way, thanks in large part to its finely FEA-optimized spider and surround—key elements in delivering tight, controlled excursion. Built on Sundown’s custom-tooled 8" frame, the X-8 v.3 pushes the platform to its absolute limit. The motor and coil support ~20mm of one-way linear excursion and up to 2.4" peak-to-peak before the coil exits the gap. An aluminum shorting ring and other proprietary features help reduce distortion. Its 800-watt RMS rating is conservative for what it can truly handle.
