The Kenwood eXcelon DMX1058XR is the "Reference" series equivalent to the DMX1038S. While they share the same massive 10.1" floating display and single-DIN chassis, the DMX1058XR is the choice for pure audiophiles. It is built with premium-grade internal components, including high-quality capacitors and gold-plated terminals, to ensure the cleanest possible signal path.
The most critical upgrade in the eXcelon Reference version is the move to 5.0V High-Voltage Pre-outs (compared to 4.0V on the standard model) and the addition of a Digital Optical Output. This makes it the ideal head unit for systems using external Digital Signal Processors (DSPs) or high-end eXcelon amplifiers, as it provides a virtually noise-free signal.
