Omega Touch
The overall features of the Omega Touch are nice. It's great to get confirmation that the car started, locked, unlocked, etc which I was missing with my original remotes for my Omega system. The touch-screen is fairly easy to use/figure out even w/o the manual.
One drawback I find is that even though the Touch has a rechargable battery, the remote must be recharged more than once per week or it will go dead. I confirmed with Omega tech support that this is normal operation. The tech I contacted said he recharged his once every 2 to 3 days. So you basically need to get in the habit of hooking it up to the charger frequently like you'd do with a cellphone.
I've twice had the unit switch into Spanish mode on me which I assume is due to the touch-screen taking something hitting the screen (my finger, the inside of my pocket?) as multiple inputs to scroll to the language selection screen and chose Spanish.
Occasionally, even before the battery is discharged, the unit will "shut off" meaning I can't use the quick lock/unlock buttons on the side, I first have to wake it up via the main front button, at which time it plays the welcome video/audio.
If you're not a fan of having to recharge electronics frequently, you might prefer the Omega Echo 2 or 3 unit. They both employ 2-way communications w/ the car. My wife has the "3" and her AAA battery lasts at least 2 months, if not more. If I'd known how quickly the Echo Touch rechargable battery depleted itself, I would have opted to buy the Echo 2 or 3 unit. I'll occasionally forget to charge the Touch and when I go to use it, it's completely dead and needs to be charged before I can use it.
