An impressive linear excursion envelope that exceeds 0.75 in. (19 mm) one-way allows it to deliver impact well beyond the range of other 8-inch Subwoofers. The 8W7AE is best used with amplifier power in the 200W - 500W range and is optimized to operate in a 0.875 cu. ft. (24.8 l) sealed enclosure, or a 1.0 cu. ft. (28.3 l) ported enclosure.
W7AE (Anniversary Edition) Subwoofers celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the launch of the W7 subwoofers. Functionally, they are identical to the original W7's, but they are distinguished by cosmetic differences.

Best 8" SQ sub on the market. Period.
I've been running these subs since their intro back in '04, I believe - this 'll be my 2nd quad set. Yes, there are less expensive 8" subs out there, that might get louder too, but NONE of them will sound as good doing it. Worth every penny. If sound quality plays a greater role for you over just being 'loud', then these are the way to go. And make no mistake; they DO get loud too!!

I have been installing car stereo systems for a while and today i built 2 boxes for customers. Once one of the boxes just so happened to be for this w7 8. I was truly impressed with the amount of output and how linear this woofer stays when it is being fully pushed. The amp was a rockford t1500 bdcp so it was clean power and let me tell you, this 8 got LOUD for its size and took the power extremely well. I have installed sundown sa 8's sundown x8's dc m3 8's as well as PSI 8" woofers and this woofer definitely held its ground against all the other competitors and took the power better then some of them. Overall a excellent woofer if you can swallow the price point.
