The DEI 555H provides an easy way for interfacing a remote starter with the vehicle's factory anti-theft system, while maintaining the integrity of the factory system. This immobilizer anti-theft system uses a low-power transponder mounted in the head of the ignition key. The Key Cylinder Module converts the the transponder signal and sends a coded signal to the Engine Control Module. If the signal is correct, the vehicle will then start.
