Cerwin-Vega CVMP6.5 Clean

This is a loud clean playing midrange speaker, the best 6.5" 4 ohm speaker I've ever seen heard or owned. Usually I would buy (8 ohm) pro audio band mid speakers) mainly B&C, 18 Sound and Cerwin-Vega. Being these were Cerwin-Vega i decided to buy two. These speakers are sooo clean and sooo loud. I'm putting 200 watts RMS (100 watts more than recommended) to each speaker and they hand the power well (midrange going to the speaker alone) do not recommend if ur not good at tuning. These speakers are well made they have a strong, compact design the push terminals and the rummer around the magnet gives it a nice finish. The only thing is the grill is made a bit cheap and the silver's just an off colour with the black and red speaker so i sprayed mine black!! (just a suggestion). Its a good buy u wont regret it.

Good Mid Range Speaker

Can handle the power from my 125w RMS capable amp very well. No static or distortion. I have them on the rear deck of my Accord coupe on either side of my sub.

If you are looking for lower frequencies from these, you won't get them, but if you want great guitar and rock vocals these will truly complement your system if you already have the low end covered.
They fill in the gap between the bass and tweeters.

They appear well built. Good deal for the money. 3 Stars for the Durability rating as I just installed them recently. 3 Stars for the Features as they have no features, they're speakers.

Not quite sure

I put these in a 2013 Silverado crew cab in the two rear doors. After figuring out how I was going to mount these speakers which was no easy task, I still don't know if I'm really that happy with the purchase. No easy way to mount the speaker to the truck because of the size of the speaker itself. Made a custom wood ring out of 3/4" MDF and glued to the plastic mount of the factory speaker, which was the only way I could get the speaker to clear the window from behind. Other wise the window would not roll down all the way and no way to mount speaker to the truck with out using factory mount. Bought two plastic 1" spacer rings to mount speaker without factory mount thinking it would be easier, but the damn speaker is so big around it wouldn't fit. After all that I was a little disappointed in the sound because they are not very loud and really don't sound any better than the factory speakers which I have retained in the front. Maybe the wattage is to low for these speakers to really shine I don't know, but still thought that they would sound better than the factory one's. I have been a fan of Cerwin Vega since 1988 and that is all I own for my vehicle's and home, but this has to be the most disappointing purchase of a Cerwin Vega product I have ever made. I want to state why I'm rating this product so you understand why. Even though it was hard to install I understand that aftermarket sometimes is. Also that I just put them in so don't really know how they will hold up, but I have been loyal to Cerwin Vega for the simple fact that for the money verses quality their is not a better product you can buy. Sure their are better speakers out there, but Vega's were made to play loud and take a beating. Hopefully they still are.

This is a really loud speaker and clear. Best speaker I've got. Better than some 6" x 9".
