The TASCAM DR-40 Handheld 4-Track Recorder:

The TASCAM DR-40 grants you the flexibility you require to record wherever in the world you may be. With its four-track recording capability, adjustable angle mics and extended battery life, the TASCAM DR-40 is sure to satisfy.

The DR-40 can capture up to four tracks using its stellar-quality condenser mics along with additional mics or instruments plugged into the XLR mic or line inputs. The built-in microphones can be adjusted from AB to XY position, enabling you to tailor your recording to the acoustics of the room. A pair of fantastic TASCAM mic preamps offer phantom power for condenser microphones, recording at up to 24-bit/96kHz resolution. It accommodates balanced XLR or 1/4" line inputs using Neutrik Combo jacks. The DR-40 comes with a 2GB SD card, and also accepts SD or SDHC cards up to 32GB.

After you're through recording, playback your takes with the DR-40's EQ and the optional Level Align feature to avoid volume jumps. A stereo reverb effect is included, in addition to a speaker and a chromatic tuner. Transferring your recordings to computer is quick and easy through the unit's USB 2.0 functionality.

Other features include variable speed playback, overdub mode, low cut filter, limiting and much more – all with TASCAM’s user-friendly interface.
