Rockford Fosgate Punch P1000X1bd

First off, like all RF gear its underrated. My P1000x1bd's birth sheet specs it at 1472 watts at 1 ohm. Here are the pros/cons of this amp

PRO
- high power, sounds pretty good
- no turn on wire required, can "listen" to the rca inputs and turn the amp on or off
- has crossover and hpf
- accepts a large range of input voltages
- relatively compact for actual power output and runs cool even after extended high volume listening

CON
- at start up I hear a high pitch (almost like alternator whine but not actual alt whine) sweep as the amp comes to life. It takes about 20-30seconds and it starts at ~15khz and sweeps down to like 8-10khz. its not loud, but it is audible and is coming through 15" subs and its own internal LPF set to 80-100hz. After this is complete, it does not have any noise present and is a quiet amp
- my line levels are 5v and it needs to have the input sensitivity cranked to the .5v setting to balance with the rest of my system. Could just be that my line out isnt really 5v. However, the full range amp I am running is also a rockford amp and adjustment seems to be on point with 5v.
- you have to buy the bass knob. Come on RF. charge more if you need to include a 5 $ (your cost) bass knob in the box. I am not buying one on principle alone.

I am running 2 RF 15" P3d4s at 1ohm and they are a perfect match for the power this amp creates. Its definitely a bass heavy system, but doesnt have to be obnoxious either.

Punch 1000

Very good amp price was good have this in 2010 tahie with 2 10 p2 fosgates and bass is clean and powerful. Set up was easy dont be confuesd on speaker connection still one channel. Tuning procedure was easy also

Great quality

Easy to set up with its built in hardware and music cd. Saves speakers by showing when you clip via led. Mine put our nearly 1300w rms. Never gets hot. Hide away controls and simple power wire connections.... i loved this amp when I had it.

A Dying Breed

There arent many companies left whos power ratings actually stand up with the performance of the amp, BUT Rockford still sends a 1000x1 amp that still contains a CEA birth certificate. My amplifier was born pushing 1521 watts RMS. yes it really does. If you want the power and you want the label to tell you the power ratings that are as good or better than the number in the name, There is only one place left to look that i know of since Pheonix Gold sold out long ago. Rockford Fosgate, for the real world stats and ability to get beat up as they will from time to time
