Excellent Camera

I've had this camera installed for a few months now. It works excellent. I really like the hidden bracket install. The large, external license mounts are an eyesore, and definitely look like an "add-in". This one looks great. It also works great in all conditions: night, day, etc.

Works great, just had a problem hooking it up so that it turn on automatically when I put it in reverse, definitely can't use it at night, overall a great product.

Seems like a fair design

This bolted to my truck easily, and the wires seems like they're long enough. But the junction "boxes" where the wiring meets are too big. When wiring through a car or truck, they'll have to be fit through tight spaces. These little junction boxes are way to big to easy install.

I shorted out the wiring in my during install because of the size of the wire junctions. I need to order a new one just to harvest the wire. At least it's cheap.

Happy so far

Bought a 2014 Grand Caravan this winter. I chose low miles over in-dash GPS and back up camera. Tax money is in and so is the fun stuff. This camera works well. It is not a night vision unit but we are getting plenty of light between the reverse lights and the license plate lamp. Picture quality is more than adequate.

Instructions were not too detailed but not much to really say. Pull wire, make connections, enjoy you work. I did have to extend the wires used to connect to the reverse light wire and the ground. I also had to extend the wire running to the video input on the stereo harness. Meh, what are you going to do?

The only thing to do now is hope that this is a durable piece. Only time will tell. Not gonna sweat it. It's gonna be what it's gonna be.

I love this little camera....it works very well, has distance lines and does an amazing job at night even though it is not specifically an IR unit!

Very nice camera, I instlled this on the back licence plate of a FJ Cruiser and the camera mountcan be bent to get a good viewing angle and since the camera itself is so small you can barely see it once its mounted, id highly recommend this camera and you cant beat the price.

Good camera

Using this camera on the back of my truck. installation was simple enough, AND the RCA feed cable includes a power wire that can be used as a trigger wire for the REVERSE sense wire on your HU. Wire the cam power wires to the reverse lamp and every time you switch into reverse the cam powers up and sends the sense signal to the HU. LIMITATION of this setup: If you tow and want to view your hitch while driving (not sure why, but I've heard some folks talk of this)this will not be possible.
But if you don't need to see behind you while driving, this simplifies the installation.
We'll see in a few months how it holds up to the weather.
