Awesome in-ear headphones

The Sennheiser IE 80 headphones are awesome. I gave it 5 stars in every category except features, because it would've been nice to have a built-in microphone for calls and/or volume and playback controls. Those are not deal breakers for me, and honestly I don't really need them, but a lot of headphones include those features currently.

Bottom line is if you are a music lover of all types, these are your headphones. They sound great with everything that I've thrown at them. The bass will make you smile.

Insane Great Value! Great Earbud!

Bought it on insane promotion rate by Sonic Electronix.
While mine was back ordered (paid) they did ship out the item pretty fast, once shipped out they provide tracking info (UPS) which is useful. The packaging is sufficient and without much hassle to open. The item looks and feels authentic (mine you that there are tons of fake IE80 out there and when the item sell with unbelievable price you have to be careful a lot, Sonic Electronix mentioned that they are authorized dealer of Sennheiser though).

IE 80 need some time to burn in so you can leave it playing music for a few hours before start to use it, the sound is truly amazing, and even better with little fine tune of base respond, adjust it & test it with songs with a lot of bass and you will feel the difference (if there is totally no different for lowest & highest it maybe fake)(not bass head, my preferred setting is turn to lowest, then with a very slight turn a bit to liven the sound, take the scale 0,1,2,3,4, maybe around 0.2). Sennheiser's Midrange Earphones: Give them a chance!

My experience with the IE80 East in-ear monitors has been pleasant, though slightly dulled compared to other options I currently possess for less funding.

Pros of this product are plentiful, beginning with a well-structured, durable packaging for security and reassurance of an unharmed purchase. These earphones feature an option to modify bass response using a screw mechanism(tool included) located on each earphone, which was useful for 'fun', club-style listening options. The stainless-steel earphone accents provide a formal appearance, with a slight amount of show for passerby, as well as durability for accidental mishaps because we are human. The included ear tips were an incredibly diverse assortment and I believe one to fit nearly everyones' ear canals as well. I also appreciate the detachable/replaceable two-pin cable that attaches to both earphones and terminates in a 3.5mm(1/8") plug. The cable was also quite lengthy, near three-four feet. The soundstage is very well-spaced, and the isolation(especially when using the foam tips, which are my favorite) is phenomenal, surpassing standard hearing safety earplugs dB reduction.(in my personal opinion) The low-end of these in-ear monitors is also astonishingly deep. Finally, the reassurance of a two-year warranty is the icing-on-the-cake for this product; Sennheiser will take great care of its customers and their products into the future.

Cons regarding this product were few, but clearly evident. The storage container for the earphones does not easily accommodate them, let alone the numerous ear tips.(four pronged holders+currently used ear tips) A shame, as the storage container is well-built and surrounded in stainless-steel for additional reassurance. The frequency response of these earphones also slightly suffers from flat bass,(at times) tinny treble, rolled-off highs, and a "forward" midrange with deepened vocals.(both sexes) Sadly, I own a fifty US Dollar pair of earphones that were more balanced and responsive than these in-ear monitors, though they were completely plastic, provided a nylon/vinyl case with multiple ear wings,(to retain them in your ear, which I feel they did not need) a flat cable, in-line microphone to 3.5mm plug, irreplaceable cable, solid packaging, six choices of ear tips, and a one-year, Five-Star warranty.

Overall, this product was rather overpriced, in my personal opinion, though its portability, durability, bass-manipulation feature, and warranty are certainly valuable assets for this investment. I would still recommend these earphones for the individual who enjoys music with a favored low-frequency response and mild vocals, but certainly not to a high-frequency listener who also appreciates bolder and more pristine vocals.

Audiophile grade audio at half the price

Great earbuds!

I'm pleased with the sound quality of these earbuds. I watched some youtube videos before purchasing, and I feel that these earbuds are very well made, well thought out, and well designed. They do have that "earbud" sound to them, meaning that the sound is not as "spacious" as listening to speakers, however for the purposes I use them for (long commutes), I am very happy with what I got. Also, I bought from Sonic Electronix because they're an authorized Sennheiser retailer (I checked Sennheiser's website to verify), and the price with Sonic Electronix was unbeatable. I received a legit product from an authorized seller at an amazing price. What more could I ask for?

First, I must say service is first rate. Product arrived in a timely fashion and was as described.
Second, IE80 is well made and provides great sound. My DUNU's present a more "refined" sound but some detail is missing. Will see if any changes take place as earphones break in.
