Sennheiser HD 414 Replacement Ear Pads - Yellow

Decent substitute for Grados.

Used these to replace old Grado sr80 pads using reverse quarter mod. It changes the signature of the phones, so it is harsher-sounding. The pads themselves are nice and comfortable enough. The material seems less likely to disintegrate like the original Grados, but time will tell. I think pads are overpriced in general, but these are much cheaper than Grados.

The internet is a wonderful tool and Sonic Electronix is a great source. I have had a pair of vintage Sennheiser 414 sitting unused in a drawer for years due to the foam earpads rotting away 20 years ago (I bought them new in 1973!). On a whim I googled for foam pads for Sennheiser 414, and after shoppinga few other sites I selected Sonic Electronix as they offered factory branded product and the best price! Happy to have my awesome vintage headphones in usable condition again! Time to listen to some vinyl!

Perfect Replacement

When I returned from a 30-year hiatus from the remote recording business, I found that some of my equipment that had been in storage had deteriorated. The yellow foam ear pads on my Sennheiser headphones were crumbling to dust. I found exact replacements from Sonic Electronix at a great price (I believe they might have been on sale at the time). Now, I'm back in business!

HD 414 Eat Pads

These were used to replace the ear pads on a pair of grade Sr325i "Goldies"

These work amazingly well. The comfort exceeds the grado pads. And the yellow on gold is a great color combo. I didn't feel the need to out a quarter sized hole in the pads for better sound as others suggested. Audio comes through just as clear and crisp with the grado pads. Bass is also heavy I heard no drop off. They are so much more comfortable
