Smaller than you think; big sound
The Beyerdynamic A200p DAC-amp is a joint product with the digital audio player firm Astell & Kern. It connects to your phone via short, proprietary Lightning (for iOS) and USB (for Android) cables. It charges from a proprietary USB cable as well. The silver circle of the device is the volume control. Several thick rubber dots are supplied to add a "handle" to make the volume disc to turn. The A200p fits inside a small leather case with a belt loop. The logistics of attaching it to a belt and to the phone with such a short cable are problematic, however.
The A200p DAC-amp makes your phone music files sound great. There is more than enough volume -- the volume control silver disc turns multiple times -- to power the most power-hungry headphones, like the 300 ohm Sennheiser HD-650s. The A200p battery lasts a long time, too. It is a great little unit, and is smaller than you think.
