The ICON series speakers utilize advanced materials and design techniques to ensure long lasting life. The speakers feature a reinforced composite enclosure to protect the internal components from the harsh marine environment and the beating they will take out on the water. They also include fixed and swivel clamp stainless steel mounting systems to provide multiple mounting options.
A full passive crossover network allows the ICON tower speakers to deliver perfectly tuned frequencies to the powerful 8" woofer for full, rich sound. These speakers are capable of tremendous volume and mid bass without the listener fatigue usually associated with higher volumes. You'll be heard from across the water with ICON tower speakers!
Most marine coaxial speaker tweeters use the pole piece mount design which can allow water to drip down into the speaker cone and damage the speaker. The Icon 8 W-SC speakers feature a grill mounted tweeter rather than the pole piece mounted design. This allows the woofer to remain sealed and eliminates any water seeping into the cone.
