Hooked a set of these up to my Rockville RXD-F30 micro amp, which is dyno tested @ 100 watts RMS x4 @ 4 ohms, so according to their specs, these should have handled it. NOPE. Installed per instructions, Tuned my gain on the amp with a multimeter as the sonic electronix youtube video shows, so it was tuned properly. Ran all new 100% pure copper 16 gauge speaker wire throughout the entire system, so it is a solid setup. Speakers lasted about 15 minutes at 3/4 volume, never turned my head unit up all the way, though I should have been able too, as no distortion via the multimeter was noted when testing prior to hooking up the speakers. I should have figured this would be the outcome from such a budget set of speakers, but what can I say, I was trying to be optimistic. Now I need to order another component set that can actually handle the power. Kinda sad, the rear speakers were a 10 year old set of Alpine 5.25's rated at like 55 watts RMS or something like that. I expected to blow them and replace them, but was curious how long they would last. They are both still working, a few months later, though one is slightly distorted. Just sayin crunch.....maybe put a realistic RMS rating......like 30-40 or something lol.
I will say, these probably work fantastic powered by a head unit, at 15-20 watts RMS. Or by a crunch amp, (over)rated at 150 watts RMSx4 (will likely be pushing 50 if they rate the same way...)
Anyway, the take away from this, is don't be cheap if your going to push real power. Should be obvious, but I fell for it. Shame on me.....
Running off a head unit, these are probably great. I will say they sounded alright for the few minutes they lasted.

I replaced my wifes factory component system in her tahoe with this crunch component system. The Bass is decent for the price but the mid bass production its what would make me buy again and again.

Great speakers for the price. Would make a great replacement speaker for stock. I have them in the rear of my 2012 civic. Highs are great, as far as bass im uncertain as my stock deck doesnt run a full signal to them. The speaker wire is extremely thin, but works. And as i remember there is like a 1.5 ft of speaker wire between the tweeter and mid.
