Since some in-dash monitors are installed at different heights and angles, reduced visibility due to glare is inevitable. The exclusive Reverse Tilt Mechanism is the solution to this problem. In addition to the traditional tilt mechanism that allows the bottom to be tilted forward, the Reverse Tilt also allows the top of the screen to tilt forward to eliminate glare.

Unlike the DDX812, the DDX814 comes with a 13-Band parametric equalizer opposed to a 3-Band. The parametric equalizer consists of filters whose characteristics can be controlled such as the frequency so that you can receive the best sound possible from your CD Player. The 13-Band equalization can be controlled to fit the needs of the music you are listening to and your mood for that day.

With the new hands-free cell phone law in effect these days, Bluetooth is something that is needed in every vehicle. The Kenwood DDX-814 has built-in Parrot bluetooth allowing up to 5 phones to be used at one time. Now you will never have to reach for your phone while driving since the head unit supports voice recognition dialing. With the press of a button, just say the name of the person you want to call and the DDX-814 will dial it for you!
