Getting the most out of your subwoofer requires that you have an amplifier that can output adequate power. Today's high power subwoofers are designed to accept a lot of power from the amplifier to produce accurate bass response. The Hifonics BXi1608D is a single channel monoblock amplifier that will provide plenty of power to your high output subwoofer. Rated at 1100 watts @ 2 ohm and 1600 watts @ 1 ohm, this amp is in a class dedicated to high performance. The tooled aluminum casing dissipates heat effectively and quickly to make sure that the amp stays cool. This Hifonics BXi1608D R/B is the perfect amp for your next installation!

Great Value
Impressive amp! I paired this with an RE Audio SX12 (claims 1000w RMS), load is 2 ohms. The output is loud and clean, especially at the lower frequencies (20-40hz).
I've played the system for 1-2 hour stretches and the amplifier stays cool to the touch even at high volumes. Build quality seems above average, though the controls seem on the cheap side. I love the look of the amp, the lit up logo is a nice touch.
After weeks of use, I get the notion that the amplifier is overrated. Distortion rears its ugly head when pushed real hard, before the subwoofer has reached its mechanical limits. The amplifier sports 140A worth of fusing, but appears to have 4 gauge power terminals. That alone is a good indication of deceptive marketing.
I would guess at 2-ohms, it's pushing perhaps 750-800W RMS, instead of the 1100 claimed. When purchasing this brand, I'd shoot a bit higher than what you need until the amps are CEA-2006 certified. That said, there's still a ton of clean, distortion-free hard-hitting power available, and my sub gets PLENTY loud enough for me.
