Learning never ends and the GR10 is a result of a constant desire to look at designs and materials and improve upon them. Improvements upon the single armature design found in the GR8 are now in the GR10. A higher level of precision and new materials allows for the performance of the GR10 to add frequency extension in both the higher and lower ranges as well as lowering distortion. The result is an even more faithful experience to the recorded musical event.

A proprietary wide bandwidth moving armature design provides the listener with unsurpassed performance. Small size allows earphone to nestle well within the ear canal, maintaining an excellent air seal for improved bass and reduction of outside noise without causing discomfort.

GR10
The GR10 I purchased from Sonic Electronix is my favorite earphone, and I have owned many, including Shure SE535, Sony EX1000, Westone 2, 3, UM3X, 4, 4R and the Etymotic ER4P. The GR10 (a moving armature) is a rare find in the crowded iem world. It has amazing clarity and is still musical w/ quality bass and amazing treble and lush mids. I believe it is the single best iem I've heard. While it lacks the weight/timber that the W4 has, the GR10 has a stunning clarity. At times, they may seem a little bass light but they quality of the bass is very detailed. (In fact, I think the bass keeps getting better the more they burn in.) The mids are great and they have really well extended, controlled highs. The instrument separation is incredible, too. Violin and baroque have never sounded better. They also reproduce piano so well that they make me want to listen to piano solos... something I never do! On folk and acoustic tracks, I've heard actual "space" between the harmony tracks, as if you can imagine where the vocalist sang next to one another.
If they weren't so expensive, I think the GR1- would have taken the iem world by storm. But the price is worth it if you have the money! The SE535 actually sound cheap compared to these, especially with classical music.
In ways, it's like an Etymotic ER4P for the 21st century. Reference + Musical at the same time?! I didn't think its possible. I don't know if Grado built this iem from scratch, but it sounds as if they did! They totally re-imagined what an iem should sound like. Instead of trying to one up the competition, they just made the most musical, controlled and comfortable iem out there. These are immaculately tuned.
It is also BY FAR the most comortable iem I've worn. These silicone tips are like a hybrid of a sony hybrid/klipsch gel. People always say about iems you actually forget they're in. Well, here is one of them. All you hear is music! (For those who are wondering, they could be worn either over ear or down. They also do a great job isolation outside sound.)
Expensive, but worth every penny, if you have the pennies to spend!
If I could make a few changes, it would be to include a case, to have user replaceable cables and to have them a different color than the pastel/metallic green!

WOW!!!
I really like how Grado kept the small design like they used on the GR8. Very lightweight and compact so they can really be used for anything! I've used the GR8 a few times and was impressed, but I heard Grado was working on a new model so I held out and kept using my Skull Candys... well worth the wait. I read they used an improved armature driver and its got a much lower impedance. Overall great balance!!!! Incredibly smooth!!! Love It
