Switchable For Any Job

Ashly's TRA-Series takes all the best parts of the SRA-Series and throws in some even better parts of its own. The TRA-Series incorporates state of the art technological advancements to deliver highly-efficient amplifiers ideal for low impedance, 25V, 70V or 100V installations with moderate power necessities. Four models are available in 2 and 4-channel setups with RMS power ratings of 75W and 150W per channel (@ 4 ohms).

Every control of the TRA-Series amplifiers are either on the rear panel, or they're internal. A 6-step LED meter enables you to monitor the levels for each of the individual channels. Each TRA-Series amplifier can power 4 or 8 ohm loads in addition to constant lines of 70V and 100V simultaneously. The 150W models are amply (no pun intended) capable of directly driving lines of constant 25V using the direct coupled 4 ohm output.

Some of the TRA-Series features include: very low noise, an internally switchable 120V/240V power supply, extensive protection circuitry, euroblock inputs and outputs, main power switch and an LED signal level meter indicating -24dB, -18dB, -12dB, -6dB, -3dB and a clip alert for each channel, level attenuators for the individual channels, rear panel switches to choose between two settings of input sensitivity, remote power turn-on/off and adjustable power-on delay (up to 8 seconds).

All Ashly TRA-Series amplifiers are convection-cooled, which means almost no need for maintenance after initial installation, AND no irritating noise from the fan. With the TRA-Series amplifiers, you get the dependability, ultra-high sonic quality and rugged construction that consumers expect from the Ashly name.

Amplifier Specifications

Amplifier Class

An amplifier increases the power of the signal being fed to it by taking energy from its power supply and matching the signal but increasing its amplitude. Amplifiers use many different methods for converting these electrical signals and have been categorized into classes.

Class A/B: Greater than 50% of the input signal is amplified while the other percentage is “off”. These amplifiers have a small amount of current flowing through the output transistors all the time which almost eliminates crossover distortion. Class A/B has great sound quality but is not as efficient as class D. These amps are most commonly used to drive speakers.

Class D: Also known as switching amplifiers, class D amps have output transistors that are completely turned “on” or “off”. This means that when the transistors are on, there is almost no voltage across them but when they are off there is significant voltage but no current flowing through it which makes these amplifiers very efficient at the cost of sound quality. These amps are most commonly used to drive subwoofers.

Other Classes: You may see classes such as GH, bD, X, FD, etc. by some manufactures. These amplifiers tend to be either class A/B, D or a hybrid of the two but with improvements to their designs that can make them more efficient or offer better sound quality.

This spec compares the strength of the signal to the level of background noise. A higher value indicates less background noise.
