Headphone Design
This is the design of the earpieces on the headphones. Some headphones go inside the ear, while others rest on the outside of the ear. This helps you know exactly what type of headphones you will be receiving.
In-Ear: The ear buds go into the ear. Most often, the right and left ear buds are two separate pieces.
Enclosed-Ear: Usually are found on the larger headphones. They rest on top of the ear and have padding for comfort, as well as enclosing the ear to the speaker. This type of headphone helps to filter out surrounding noise.
On-Ear: This type of headphone involves the speaker sitting gently on the ear without going in the ear or sealing it off.
Headphone type refers to the construction of the headphones.
Around the Ear means that the headphones wrap around the ear to provide a secure fit. This is most often seen in active and sports headphones.
Around the Neck means that the headphones wrap around the neck. This is also seen in active and sports headphones.
Earbuds means that the right and left sides of the headphones are separated and will fit securely into the ear. These are small, compact, and user friendly.
Over the Head headphones mean that the right and left speakers are connected with a support that goes over the head and rests on top. This is the typical headphone type.
This is the application that the headphones are designed for. Each application has unique features that make it perfect for particular uses.
DJ: These headphones are durable, loud, and will often allow for one ear listening.
Gaming Delivers explosive sound and allows you to communicate with others.
Home Hi-Fi: These audiophile headphones are engineered to produce high fidelity and accurate audio.
Home/Office: These headphones are designed to produce rich, brilliant sounds that the artists would appreciate.
Sports: Designed for active use. These headphones are made to stay in (or on) the ear during workouts.
Kids: Feature noise limiting technology so that your little ones don't damage their ears listening to music too loud.
On-the-Go: On-the-go headphones are lightweight and often fold up for easy storage and portability.
Student: Compact and rugged enough to survive life in a backpack; inexpensive enough to not hurt the wallet of a student.
Studio: Reproduce music perfectly without any coloration. Look here for reference quality studio monitoring headphones.
Traveler/Airplane: These headphones are compact, lightweight, and have a portable design.
Home/Office
Sports
Student
Traveler/Airplane
The basic design of the headphones. There are 3 different types:
Open: Have ports that allow air through the back of the diaphragms, enabling the headphones to sound like the music is coming from an outside source.
Closed: Completely sealed and have no air passing through the diaphragms. Sounds like you are in a closed off room.
Semi-open: Have slots or ports in the back of the cup and are partially open. This allows for a mixed sound between an open and closed headphone.
General Features
Corded means that the headphones use a cord to transfer the audio signal.
Bluetooth means that the audio signal is transmitted from your device to the headphones via a Bluetooth connection.
Corded or Bluetooth means that the headphones can be used as corded headphones or as Bluetooth headphones. They have an input in one or both earcups for use as a corded headphone while they also have a built-in battery for use as Bluetooth wireless headphones.
Wireless means that the audio signal is transmitted wirelessly to the headphones.
The Jack Angle refers to the angle of the input jack on the headphone cable.
Straight Jack: Straight plug with no angle.
Angled Jack: Angled plug, usually a 90 degree angle.
Swivel Jack: A swivel jack is able to swivel between a straight plug and an angled plug.
Silicone
Audio Features
The physical design of the driver in the headphones.
Balanced Armature:
A balanced armature driver uses a coil wrapped around an armature which is held in between two magnets until it is stimulated by an electrical current. When stimulated, this armature is magnetized which causes it to rotate one way or the other around a pivot point which moves the diaphragm to create sound. Balanced armature driver headphones are generally earbuds and can have multiple drivers in each earbud.
Dynamic:
Dynamic drivers are the most common driver type. They feature a permanent magnet, usually neodymium, a voice coil and a conical diaphragm to drive your music. A dynamic headphone driver looks pretty much identical to any typical home theater speaker.
Electrostatic:
Electrostatic drivers are made up of an extremely thin membrane, usually a coated PET film, stretched between two metal plates. An electrical signal is applied to the metal plates to create an electrical field which, depending on its polarity, draws the speaker diaphragm toward one of the plates which forces air through the perforations in the diaphragm which generates the sound wave.
Planar Magnetic:
A planar magnetic driver is made up of a large membrane suspended between two sets of oppositely aligned magnets. An electric charge is applied to the membrane to induce movement and produce sound waves.
Efficiency (1w/1m) is not an accurate indicator of a subwoofer's output capability and should not be used as a comparison to other speakers or subwoofers to determine which one is "louder".

I may have been wrong ? These are very well made, I have been using them for over a month daily, with out any trouble. The only thing that could use some improvement, would be bass, but that goes for most, unless you spend some money. They are so comfortable, and you never have to put in a earbud that fell out, never. I LIKE THEM !!!

Not wanting to use the harder component that wraps around your ear, they do not stay seated well even with all the various rubber pieces.
****
Manufacturer Response:
They are made to wrap around your ear. If you use them as direct input with cord hanging down, it is recommended you switch the left and right sides as the design would be more of a natural fit due the curves purposely being made to fit an around the ear style. That being said, you would also reverse the sound stage in that type of a fit.

Before I got this product, I have never heard of this brand. Granted that I didn't need to risk anything because the pair came in free worth the purchase of another circumaural headphone I bought, but the quality of this little one matches the quality of the other more famous brands out there like shure and nose. The silver coated finish on the cord is also nice in blocking too much entanglement happening. It takes little getting used to for the East hook thing but over you get it, it will be awesome while traveling because these buds will not really fall off.

For $*** dollars these are a steal, get loud than beats by Dr.Dre with less distortion! Crisp mids and highs, and the bass pounds, can't listen to very long due to west coast tweeters at very high levels atleast.

The user has to take a lot of care to use the tips that provide a completes seal in the ear cavity. When that happens then the bass quality snaps into focus and the entire soundfield taks on a much more spacious pleasing quality. If a good ear seal is not achieved then the sound can sound Peaky and harsh. A good ear seal is easy to achieve because the unit comes with 15 different tips therefore achieving a good seal is just a matter of finding the right tip for the users ear. The soundfield expands outside the boundaries of your head and avoid the typical boxed in earphone or headphone sound. These should be on any serious listeners short list of earphones for consideration.

Where do I begin with these? They have so many features for $100. The only feature they do not have that I wish they had is a mic + play/pause button. Here is my breakdown:
Sound:
I must say I never heard of NVX and was a bit worried about the sound quality before buying, but their over ear had some good reviews so I figured why not. I was incredibly impressed with the sound quality these have. They are so much better than my Klipsch S4i it's not even funny. The response is really balanced and sound staging is excellent. The bass also feels incredibly natural and not overbearing like some others and overall I am just really pleased. I have listened to alternative/rock (Counting Crows, Matchbox 20) and hip hop (Hopsin, Lecrae, Lupe Fiasco) and everything sounded the way it does on my studio monitors. I was left feeling like nothing was missing and that was really important to me in terms of whether I wanted to keep or return... These are keepers!
Cable:
Quite possibly this is the sturdiest cable I have ever had on earbuds, including much more expensive Shure and Westone. I contacted NVX to find out what they used and it is a pure silver cable. It never gets tangled, is durable as hell, and you can just tell the quality compared to standard plastic or even twisted/flat designs out there. On top of the toughness, it also looks great as it is silver.
Eartips:
The sheer number of eartips included is almost intimidating, but I got over it and got the exact pair that fit me. I really like how there are silicon tips and then also silicon with foam tips included. I went for medium silicon w/ foam and they are extremely comfortable. I also like the comfortmax flexible foam tips when I am traveling in public (airplane, bus, etc) as they offer a bit more noise isolation and I am even tempted to go buy a set of comply tips to compare.
Adjustable Nozzle Sound Port:
This is a really cool feature that is extremely undersold in my opinion. It is my favorite feature on these buds. Maybe it is because my ears are not normal or average, but because of the adjustable port I can fit these better than anything else I have previously owned.
Memory wire and earhooks:
The memory wire and earhooks are pretty cool and I have seen them on other sets, but the memory wire is softer than my Westone and more flexible. I am not a huge fan of the earhooks, but maybe for some people they will like those better. I left them in the box unused. For me, the memory wire works great at the gym or when I go running and really helps when it comes to plopping them out and then leaving them resting on my ears so I can talk with friends at the gym without having to have it hanging from my chest.
Cons:
I like complyfoam tips as I stated above so that would have been great to get those. I have an Android phone so I am not huge on the Apple 3 button mic thing, but either would have been better than not having that option at all. Even though I am fan of over the ear designs, I still find simple plug and play to be a little easier.
Overall:
I am pleased with the sound they produce and all the neat things that came with them.

I don't hear well at all (dual hearing aids). What normal people hear from a non amped iPod, I hear with a Fiio e12 about about 1/3 volume. I bought these. Did not receive as part of a deal or anything. They are great! I had never heard of NVX before. I have a drawer full (literally) of blown earbuds, from klipsch s4-i7, monster, etc. They just can't handle the power I am putting through them. I won't warrantee something I abused.
These handle the power with no trouble AT ALL! I could tell there were problems in the other buds as they would get hot. These sound great and, if they are holding up for me, nothing can kill them :).

good lord. Props to both you Sonic Electronix and NVX. these headphones are top notch. i was expecting mid grade sound out of the ES10's but i plugged these babies in and listened to RUN DMT - Curse of The Mummy (plug because it's an excellent bass song for systems) and when the bass finally hit, it gave me goosebumps. FROM HEADPHONES. these things are amazing. it wasn't too loud, or to harsh. but the smooth clarity of my music is honestly amazing. i haven't even plugged in the FiiO yet and i'm blown away.
These things handle the long, strong bass hits of dubstep, trance, and trap flawlessly. it handles the choppy aggressiveness of metal, and it makes rock and indie sound so much more dimensional (clarity of reverb, and balance of instruments). I even threw some Gustav Mahler (classical music) at them at it handles beautifully. these play the range of music beautifully, without any flaws.
That's not to say that all music sounds good on them :) poorly mastered and recorded music shines through as well. clipping and over compression sounds like nails on a chalkboard in these, which is a good thing! i mainly listen to metal, and dubstep, but i have everything from the 50's to Trap in my library. these headphones have made it so i can explore my library all over again :) THANK YOU!

The NVX EX 10S is probably one of the best set of in ear monitor ear buds I've ever had, they are not as bright on the highs as my SHURE ear buds, but the lows/mid lows are far superior. I LOVE these ear buds.

I really like listening to music on these headphones. They are way comfortable like that other guy said. They sound pretty close to some of the other earbuds that i have owned, but there is just something slightly different about the sound that i like better. I think it is a little more warm and rich then the others. They sound really nice. Very enjoyable.
The only drawback is that they give way too many ear tips and it took me a while to find the ones that fit perfect. The wrap around design is great and reduces the amount of noise that i used to get when the cable would rub against my shirt or other clothing.
Overall, i would buy these again.

Pretty durable, been leaving it in my hoodie pocket for more than a month and still good. Comfortable enough that I didn't know I had earpiece on backwards in the wrong ear. This is because the tip can be tilted in a 360 degree fashion making it able to fit alot more ear types. Adding all the earpiece endings, you'll surely able to find one that fits. They are worn loop over the ear and has a extra tube add on to reinforce the wire if you desire. No designate call button. But sound is great and clear.

First let me say I am a huge nvx fan and have always enjoyed nvx products. After stating that fact it pains me to say these earbuds are average at best.I recently bought some klipsch earbuds also from sonic and for the same price the klipsch put the nvx to shame. The nvx sound is lacking in all areas compared to the klipsch and if I had it to do over it would be klipsch all the way.

They are loud. You can't go more than 75% of your iPhones volume. In terms of SQ I prefer polk audio ultra focus 6000 (they have also noise canceling..not very efficient but it works) but I dislike those because the noise canceling module is always rip out your ear pods because of its weight and bad positioning on the cable. The Nvx are great product overall with good SQ after you find the perfect rubber for your ears. Also you can take them anywhere. I don't use the extra rubber on the cable because I were glasses but they never fall. The cable is very flexible and they are very well made and look durable!

When I was in the market for new earbuds, I wanted to try NVX as I've used a lot of their other products and have been surprised time and time again. The same holds true to these headphones. First off the quality of these are much better than the $50 price tag. Second I use these 8-9 house a day, 5 days a week and they do not fatigue my ears at all. Very hard for me find earbuds that fit snug without hurting as I have an abnormally small ear canal.
Onto the sound.
I tend to consider myself to have a ear to detail in the music. These have yet to disappoint me regardless the music played. Comparing to other headphones these are leagues ahead. They create a nice soundstage with everything having tonal accuracy. The highs are very present, but not bright which leads to the comfort of these as your ears don't get fatigued from the listening. Midrange is smooth and reserved while the bass is tight and accurate. The only downfall is that they don't dig down into the low low frequencies (Sub 35hz) like some others I have had, but they do what they do effortlessly.
Overall verdict,
If you need great balanced sounding headphones that have the comfort for a full work day then do not hesitate to purchase these.

I got these in the package deal with the over ear headphones (also fantastic) these buds sound awesome has good sound all around good highs, mid bass, and low end my son has the dr dre buds and these completely kill them in every way. He begged me for them because he knows I dont even like earbuds. So I gave them to him and he couldn't be happier so the I think $100 his mother spent on the dre buds are just collecting dust. Overall quality of these is great the cables are thick and sturdy unlike most skinnier cheap feeling ear buds for this price. NVX is just quality all around needless to say my whole stereo system in my 98 dodge ram is all NVX from wires to amps, crossovers, component speakers, subs, d-blocks. All very high quality super efficient amps super SQL speakers and subs. I highly recommend this brand for any of audio needs that NVX supplies.

I really like the headphones, at first I did not because they would not stay in my ears. After messing with them for about a week I realized it was user error. I did not know when I got them that they are an over the ear and in and not just a straight in to the ear unit, Once I figured that out I think they have amazing sound and am really happy with them.

I found only a couple of reviews about those IEMs before buy then.
I read on head-fi that those are a Vsonic GR06 rebranded for NVX.
Considering the buzz around the GR07, I thought that GR06 could be "something like". However I was pretty wrong.
The package is nice and have a lot of good quality accessories.
The IEM itself has a great build and quality too.
The problem is the sound. It is cloudy, with no detail, definition, soundstage or instruments separation.
The only way I could use it was setting up the high frequencies to make possible to hear some instrumental separation on the EQ.
The bass and low-mids are really overpowering making the highs get pretty lost between then. This really makes the sound cloudy and diffuse.
I sold the extra pair, and really don't know what to do with the other one. Maybe I'll use then for running since they can hang pretty good on my ears with the ear guides and the cable does not make noises.
