The Lasonic i-931BT(Q) brings the style from the "back-in-the day" or "Old-School" look and delivers it in a whole new way. If we could take the best looking boombox from their peak days, and engineer it with modern technologies, and standards of today, you would be looking at the exact same stereo system. Because that is exactly what Lasonic did. It may or may not have taken a rocket scientist to come up with this perfectly brilliant concept, but we are sure of, is it doesn't take a N.A.S.A engineer to realize that this is a hot item! It practically screams "Cool". The old saying "If it ain't broke, then don't fix it" really makes one appreciate the fact that the rule only applies to "Fix"-ing it. Bonus points to Lasonic for catching that golden opportunity as the classic boombox was not broken, so instead of fixing it, they upgraded, and improved it.
The original Lasonic "Ghetto Blaster Throw-Back" Boombox that was released was the i931 (i-931). Followed by the second generation i931x (i-931x). The First and Second Generation both had some of the same features as the new models, but they had a 30-Pin iPod/iPhone Dock. By the third generation, Lasonic decided they wanted to step up their game. The i-931BT was born. Bluetooth was a fairly new technology, and it only made sense to equip this legend with the new "Hotness". With built-in Bluetooth technology, the i-931 series no longer needed the dock space which was left as a storage compartment on the i931BT. Today, the Bluetooth Ghetto Blaster Boom Box is equipped with a 5-Band Equalizer or EQ, changing the model from i-931BT to the i-931BTQ. Now, all current Lasonic Stereos (i-931BTQ though many retailers still show the old model, the i-931BT) traded in the 30-Pin dock in order to offer Bluetooth streaming, and a 5-Band EQ. A smart trade, and a no brainer for owners of Android Smartphones, Blackberry, and any Apple products with the Lightning connector (like the iPhone 5). Further adding to its capabilities, the Ghetto Blaster is also capable of reproducing music from USB flash disks, and SD/MMC cards for MP3 playback. An auxiliary input allows the Ghetto Blaster to be paired to virtually any portable music device. If all the modern compatibility isn't enough for you, the Ghetto Blaster really keeps it "Old School" by keeping the equally as classic AM/FM radio tuner with up to 20 radio presets for immediate access to all your favorite radio stations.
Surprisingly, even with all its great features, the Ghetto Blaster with Bluetooth still manages to pump seriously clear and detailed sound. Powered by two 15w speakers and dedicated bass and treble EQ controls, this old-school blaster is anything but outdated and delivers the high-quality sound so important to modern listeners. Overall, very few portable stereos today offer the superb combination of iconic style and modern compatibility as the Lasonic i931/i-931 Series. Fortunately enough for consumers, Sonic Electronix partnered with Lasonic and decided to create a variety of exclusive, limited edition ghetto blaster boomboxes. A tribute to the millions of enthusiasts, fanboys, and a classic design, available now for the first time in a polished Black & Chrome (Inspired by the best selling Lasonic TRC-931), a hot and sleek new Silver & Chrome, and bold, colorful new additions that will only prove to make picking just one even harder. Act fast, because these have been one of the best selling boombox series ever. Typically, Limited Edition actually means "Limited", believe it or not!

Blast from the Past!!!
Very retro! The silver and chrome edition was the closest I could find to the old school style. I was so excited to get mine in. It functions very well, and very loud. A few tips: if using a USB, it needs to be formatted a certain way for the ghetto blaster to recognize it. If using an SD card, the files have to be MP3.
The only issue I have is I haven't been able to connect to any Bluetooth device. I have tried android and iPhone devices. The only thing I can imagine is that it must be a certain version of BT, I believe its only a matter of time before I figure it out.
It totally rocks though!!!

Excellent Boombox!!!
I've been waiting for a while for one of these to hit the market and suit my needs. Plays well and many options for all music needs. I would recommend getting rechargeable batteries if you are on the go and the antenna is not the best I've seen and why did they put it next to the handle to get broken. I love it anyways and would recommend it to anyone. A+ on the design and options but as everything, nothing is perfect for everyone.

Best purchase in a while!
This player is awesome, I would recommend it for anyone looking for a good BT player. Once you dial it in for sound it sounds great. My wife's Bose is obviously a little better but for the price and nostalgia it is perfect!

Old School look with a New School twist...
Bought this to compliment my original Lasonic TRC-931 from the 80's. The sound is good and will crank up nice and LOUD, dont expect heart stopping bass, but it does sound clear and will definately annoy your neighbors. There are a few extra sound settings that can be controlled only from the remote. Also for some odd reason they made the USB port NON compatible with the iPod and iPhone. Bad decision in my opinion. Bluetooth pairs easily. All in all I love the old school look with the Bluetooth technology.
