A series of ultra-high performance audio components have been built-in to the PXA-H800 to achieve the heritage quality sound of Alpine. A complete 6-channel analog-to-digital converter, the CIRRUS CS5366 is ideal for unrivaled sound quality. The ADC uses a differential input architecture, which provides excellent noise rejection. To reproduce the sound source without degradation, two ultra-fast accurate 32-Bit floating-point SHARC® DSP’s are used for high-performance and rich audio feature applications. The use of four Wolfson 24-Bit D/A converters - normally a component found only in professional recording systems - help to ensure superb detail and soundscape.
Digital high pass and low pass filters allow you to set slopes from 0 to –36 dB/oct. with gain from –24 to 0dB. You can customize your system with the exact frequency crossovers you want. Digital Time Correction lets you achieve optimum sound staging by ensuring that the sounds from all speakers reach your ears at the same time. Up to 8 channels can be automatically or manually corrected, from 0 to 20ms in 0.5ms steps.
ImprintEQ is a hardware/software combination that can overcome the acoustic problems present in every vehicle interior. The software optimizes the sound stage, tonal balance and definition automatically. After the tuning is complete, you can manually adjust the settings if you desire.
The PXA-H800 provides either graphic or parametric equalization. The graphic EQ provides 31 bands for each of the five channels, plus 10 bands for the subwoofer, with gain from –12 to +12dB. While the parametric EQ lets you select a band and then adjust the output level and width for precise tuning. You get 10 bands for each of the five channels, plus five for the subwoofer, with detailed Q settings and gain from –12 to +12dB.
This exclusive Alpine technology restores sound quality that is lost in the recording or transmission processes. MediaXpander+ is especially good for making compressed digital audio files from iPod or other media players sound better. It is also effective for older recordings on CD, and improves the bass from factory-installed speakers. Access the MediaXpander+ by simply selecting MX from the menu options.
Even superior sound can be degraded by road, wind and air conditioner noise. RoadEQ takes the internal and external inputs and cancels out the noise to deliver optimal sound to your ears. It compares the original and recorded signals to create frequency-specific level adjustments to cancel the noise components. This powerful processor performs these operations at 48,000 times per second.
Even if you don’t have a center speaker, you can still enjoy 5.1-channel sound. Alpine has included a Bi-Phantom function, which uses the front left and right channels to create a phantom center channel, enhancing vocal quality.
Upgrade your sound, without the sacrifice of any of your factory control. Keep the look and functionality of your dashboard, including your steering wheel controls and features your car may already come with, such as Bluetooth wireless technology, DVD video capability, navigation, iPod support, SIRIUS/XM Satellite Radio, Auxiliary inputs, etc. The PXA-H800 also gives you control over your sound using the factory radio volume control. Leave all of your factory control intact and upgrade to signature Alpine sound.

alpine pxa upgrade from h100 to h800
I really wanted more adjustability with my cars system. the pxa h100 was a good piece but was limited on both inputs and outputs. the pxa h800 solved that for me. it can accept speaker level input on it's RCA jacks and that worked flawlessly. the auto set up was pretty good and allows "tweaking" after it's run. truth I'd my truck never sounded so good. not only did sonic have the best price on it, I also got it right away.
my system consists of Orion hccas, a 150,250, and 275, all active
morel mids and tweets and a custom built 12

I stepped up from the Alpine H100 to the H800. Seemed like it has an endless amount of options. Quick learning curve. For stealth reasons I did not go with the controller. Opting instead for installing the software on a tablet running Windows. It allowed greater flexibility than the controller.
Did ALL the work myself and ended up being California state champ MECA sound quality in only my second year of competing.
