One of the best remote start alarm systems on the market!!

Got it installed on my manual nissan skyline and works perfectly. The LC3 remote has an amazing range, i can pretty much switch on my car from about 800 meters inside buildings and even further when outside. Would recommend for anyone looking for a remote start alarm system!!

Great alarm/remote start

I purchased the 5706V after a different remote start began to fail on me. I ordered it on Sunday and was here on Monday. One of the reasons I love Sonic Electronix. My installer deals only with Directed products so he had no problem installing this.

The remote start feature works great, I had the chance to test the range on it when we temporarily moved our employee parking to about a block and a half away. This is the first time having a 2-way LCD remote and I gotta say it's one of the greatest things to be implemented into alarm/remote start systems. You get confirmations for everything, you can change some settings on the remote including backlight color. I haven't had a chance to test the alarm feature and I hope I never have to. The only thing I don't like is that remote start run time is preset to 12 mins and I haven't found out if that can be changed. But I guess it's fine, I get an alert at 3 mins saying run time is low then another at 1 min. Pressing a function button followed by the start button resets it to 12 min again.
I'm impressed and pleased with the 5706v. I wish I had another 2-way remote for my spare keys but they're about $90, so I'll live with it.

Viper alarm

Top of the line car alarm system. Should consider having it installed. Requires detailed knowledge of your specific car wiring to complete install. This probably should be mentioned as part of the sale. Other than that I'm satisfied with the system.

this alarm is great works well it would be better if it was alittle louder when you lock and unlock the car, but it gets the job done one of the best alarms.i recommend taking to get it installed at your local car stereo shop.

Okay product.

I've got it installed myself, and it works now. The remote looks pretty sexy. Having 2 way paging is great, since the remote will warn me when someone messes with my car. The siren is also pretty loud. Should scare most bad guys away.

It's great to be able to check the temperature with the remote. Love being able to start my car at the winter while I'm in the house drinking coffee. Also, remote starters aren't very common here in Europe, which had lead to some people looking at me with a very confused face while asking how I managed to start my car without being in it.

Unfortunately, there are a few things that I don't like too much about this system. The thermometer is a little inaccurate, showing around 5C too much. Also, the Status (gnd when running) output is a bit weak. Despite the load on it being less than the specified 200mA it sometimes failed to trigger, resulting in the bypass module not being triggered. I had to use a relay to reduce the load further.

The installation instructions that comes with it is kind of bad. All you get is a two-sided piece of paper with a pinout diagram and a list of the programmable features. For the rest they want you to go to their installer website that you need to bee an authorized DEI dealer to access. Which is kind of weird, because the earlier models came with a lot more instructions. Seems like they have done everything they can to prevent you from installing this yourself.

The next is the price. After I bought this product, I found some other remote start systems, which not only is way cheaper, but also has a more features, and also has built-in relays for features which this Viper alarm needs external relays.

Now that I've got this system installed in my car, I'm happy with it, and it does what it's supposed to do. But if I were to install a remote start system again, I'd go for something other than Viper.

My favorite purchase so far

I love this starter/alarm. It works great, I showed friends an co-workers and they all want one. I wanted the alarm to protect my sound system, 2-way paging so I can sleep w/o consantly checking out the window for every noise ( I'm kinda paranoid, but I have quite a few friends that have had equipment stolen), and remote start because it gets cold. Everything works great and to top it off shortly after purchasing it the LCD remote failed to charge (fluke), the great guys at Sonic Electronix replaced it w/o hassle. I love the product and the costomer service can't be beaten!
